ATTENTION Teachers & Parents: Do You Know What Your Kids Are REALLY Searching for?

It’s no surprise that kids are curious about…, well, just about EVERYTHING.  But do you have a clue what your kids are REALLY searching for on the Internet?

According to a report conducted by Norton’s (OnlineFamily.Norton) that included internet searches on Google, Bing, and Yahoo, top 10 search terms for kids between 6 and 12 years old included YouTube, Facebook, Taylor Swift, Sex and Porn!

That’s right! Unless you have manually set your Google Safe Search settings, or have your children using a safe-search-engine, like KidzSearch.com, your child can access the exact same ADULT search results as you do!

Top 10 Search Terms for Children Between Ages 6 – 12

  • Facebook
  • Google
  • YouTube
  • Sex
  • Taylor Swift
  • Porn
  • Yahoo
  • Jennifer Lawrence
  • Dog
  • Fred (a popular YouTube channel for kids)

The Problem Don’t Stop Here…

What I found even more shocking was that “sex” and “porn” aren’t the only sexual terms to make it to the kid’s Top 10 list.  Top search term 3, 28, 72, 86, 89, 91, 92, 94, and 95 were also search queries for other sexual body parts and related terms (especially the male anatomy).

Solution

If you do NOT want your kids being exposed to adult content, you can change your search settings directly via Google, which you can learn more about here.

However, an easier and effective way is to use a kid-friendly search engine like Kidzsearch.com, which will automatically filter and block out adult websites, images, and videos.

Conclusion

Sooner or later your kids will grow up and be exposed to sexual content. The question is “how soon“, “what kind” and “how often.”  Studies have shown that if you do nothing, most kids will be exposed to highly exaggerated adult content as early as 10 years of age!

If you would like to keep their innocence a little bit longer, and educate them about sexuality at a more controlled environment, we highly recommend that you set your children’s homepage to KidzSearch.com and automatically filter out all adult images, websites, and videos.  Learn More – Click Here

I’ve set my computer home page to Kidzsearch.com. My 7-year old actually enjoy using it. Much easier than constantly looking over his shoulder to see what he is doing online!
