Description

This problem was given to Primary 6 (age 11-12) students in Singapore. What is the area of the shaded region in the video, which consists of the region bounded by 4 quarter circles in a 3x3 grid of squares, and each square has a side length of 4? The shaded region looks like a claw. This video presents two methods to solve this problem.
