The sand pendulum that traces out patterns has always been a popular device in my classroom. After building and trying the basic piece, here are some additional variations that have been suggested for its use. The use of colorful sand can turn the patterns into temporary works of art or to make the patterns more permanent, use spray adhesive and make the pattern into a poster
