Description
Lily shows you how to make some Troll-rific back-to-school supplies with these DIY Poppy, Branch, and Guy Diamond pencil toppers!
Materials:
Polymer clay colors for Poppy: Light pink, bright pink, teal, and green
Polymer clay colors for Branch: Teal, dark blue, and aqua
Polymer clay colors for Guy Diamond: Sparkly light blue, sparkly silver, lime green, and white
Pencils
Aluminum foil
White, black, dark pink, and blue acrylic paint
Plastic or rubber clay tools
Craft blade and/or knife
Rolling pin
Flower cutter
Tweezers
Dotting tools
Glaze and a paint brush
How to bake polymer clay:
There are different baking temperatures for different brands of polymer clay, and these instructions are usually listed on the package of polymer clay. I used Premo! by Sculpey brand polymer clay, which needs to be baked at 275 °F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness. I baked my clay for 25-30 minutes. Please check the package of your polymer clay, and get help from adult!
Glazing:
You can find glaze in the clay section of your local craft store. There is a Sculpey brand of gloss glaze, as well as a Fimo brand of glaze. Duraclear gloss glaze can also be found in the painting section of your local craft store. Glaze is a great finish to make your project shiny. Search online for glazes if you cannot find it in your local craft store.
