Exploding Eggs - Making Hydrogen Gas from Acid
Description
Craig Beals shows how to make hollow eggs explode by filling them with hydrogen gas. The gas is made by reacting hydrochloric acid with zinc metal. The single replacement reaction produces hydrogen gas which will combust in the presence of oxygen to make water. And it makes a nice explosion as the reaction occurs. This is one of Craig's favorite science demonstrations!
