Plants may seem passive and defenceless, but they have plenty of ways to fight off attackers. In this clip from the 2009 CHRISTMAS LECTURES "The 300 Million Year War", Sue Hartley demonstrates a particularly gruesome strategy used by some plants to protect themselves from caterpillars.
