Surfers using this clever technology are giving scientists new insights into ocean health. Measuring temperature, acidity levels, salinity and the waves themselves is opening new data on our coastlines that is difficult to gauge from traditional methods like satellites and ocean buoys. Smartfin is funded by NGO Lost Bird, you can find out more here: https://smartfin.org/
This film was made in collaboration with OceanX Media, a team of scientists, explorers and filmmakers driven to discover what lies beneath the waves and to document untold ocean stories. You can find out more here:http://www.oceanx.org
