Hearst Castle is one of America's most treasured and visited homes. William Randolph Hearst, the newspaper magnate, built the compound in San Simeon, California, after inheriting and purchasing 250,000 acres in the year 1919. The main house has 115 rooms and has had some very famous houseguests including Calvin Coolidge, Winston Churchill, Greta Garbo, Charlie Chaplin and Cary Grant.
