Demonstration of a product in Japan called the WalkCar. It is like the Segway, but much smaller and completely portable. It could revolutionize transportation. A lot of times the biggest problem with public transportation is known as the "last mile," which means helping people get to their final destination stop, since subways and buses, can't go everywhere. This looks like a great solution to it.
It reaches top speeds of 10 kilometers per hour (6.2 miles per hour), for distances of up to 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) after three hours of charging. Once the rider stands on it the WalkCar starts automatically, while simply stepping off stops the vehicle. To change direction, the user just shifts their weight.
