Description

Some of you wanted to see Lego motor lifting an actual weight instead of a meter. Here you have it. 88 kg of granite is lifted to a height of 20 cm. It took 21 minutes. :)

Compared to the 220 kg machine, some changes were needed to increase the lifting distance:
-String collection around the axles was widened from 1 to 2 Lego units.
-Bushes used for strengthening the axles were replaced with Technic Reel 3 x 2 (32012).
-Gear ratio was increased from 75:1 to 135:1 to compensate the increase in diameter (and therefore loss of tension) when a lot of string is wound around the reels. This also means that the reels or axles may break if put to maximum load when the reels are empty.
