Description
Lost Maples State Natural Area is a large, pristine area of beautiful hills and canyons on the upper Sabinal River in the Edwards Plateau Region of Texas. It is designated a Natural Area, rather than a State Park, which means the primary focus is the maintenance and protection of the property's natural state. One of the only areas hosting maple trees this far south, it is a wonderfully remote location that makes for excellent hiking, camping, and stargazing especially.
This footage is all compiled from our last multi-day backpacking trip in June during a low moon phase. With little to no light pollution and a perfectly clear evening, the view of the galactic core and Milky Way in general were amazing.
Thanks for watching!
