Water is an incredible chemical! This experiment shows the adhesive (sticking to other things) and cohesive (sticking to itself) properties of water. We use a cotton string to transfer water from one measuring cup to the other. We then try this again but from the TOP OF THE GARAGE! The last test we perform is using a thicker string and we were happy to see the results!
Let me know in the comment section if this blew your mind about the properties of water and what it’s capable of. How could you use this in a practical situation? Could this be a survival technique?
Also we were super impressed by how much water could actually be sent on just the string alone. Had I poured more carefully and took more time I would have captured almost 99% of the water. The factors that worked against us were slack in the line, wind, and me pouring to fast.
