Description
Large and small containers are used to make several examples of 6 layer density column of using salt, water and food coloring. What's nice about using saltwater instead of sugar water is the columns can be left to sit for several weeks and will not spoil or form mold like sugar water will. Initially, the layers form distinct boundaries but as it sits the different concentrations ail slowly diffuse and show a nice transition from one color to the next.
