Description
This is a video segment from the DVD companion to my master's thesis, The Development of Self as a Means for Determining Degrees of Culture, where I illustrate the rise of self-awareness in non-human primates across phylogeny and ontogeny.
This work meets the Fair-use Statute Section 107 of the 1976 Copyright Act: 1. The purpose and character of the use is for nonprofit educational purposes. 2. The nature of the material is factual. 3. The amount and significance of the portion used in relation to the entire work is not significant. 4. The use will have no effect upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work, this use is non-monetized, and no commercial media is authorized on this channel. This segment is currently important for use in my Ph.D. research as well as the K-12 science classes I teach.
The simple act of cutting segments of video from a larger portion can and often does suggest other meanings than originally intended because they are removed from their original context. Please be advised that I place my copyright watermark on videos posted on my channel to protect the original content creator(s) from association with meanings, explicit or implied, created by my own edits.
