Description
Smoke rings or vortex rings can be formed underwater in an aquarium using the same principles that apply to rings formed in air. These are not bubble rings! These rings are made visible using paints, dyes, or best of all, in a weak acid (vinegar) base (ammonia) solutions and an indicator called phenolphthalein. This indicator is very common and maybe ordered online from science supply companies.
