There is a huge variety of animals that are active after sunset. The absence of light can make spotting them a challenge, especially when it comes to insects.

Dr Gavin Broad, Principal Curator in Charge of Insects at the Museum, introduced us to the world of light trapping and showed us just how useful this simple technique can be for getting to know our local wildlife.
