Sandra Tovar trains six days a week, three times a day, and has her eye on winning an Olympic gold medal. At 17 years old, shes the nations number one boxer in her weight class, and shes training alongside other young women in Fresno, California, who are serious contenders in what was once considered solely a mens sport. Since 2017, four women from Californias Central Valley have finished first or second at the junior Olympics. The secret to their success in the ring? These young female athletes have strength, determination and the support of a community that raises funds so they can compete on a national level.
