So what do you think this portrait is made of? Yeah! It’s dog hair!

Jean Ford was originally a commercial artist who later became a dog groomer to combine her artistic talent with her love of animals. She combined her two careers together and came up with these awesome portraits.

What made her even fathom doing this? Jean told us that Maggie, the Spaniel, had a very long coat and, as he aged, was getting really cranky about the constant brushing and grooming. So, one day she cut it all off! She had handfuls of beautiful long flowing hair and thought it was a waste to just throw it away. She put a lot of thought into what to do with it. Knowing that some people spin dog hair into yarn, she wanted to do something different and these paintings were born!
