I found it very easy to understand.

What is the opposite of it?

by
If you have 10x10x10 would really me to the power of three. Or another way would just to count the zeros to know.
by
So easy its makes sense now
by
thank you
by
It means how many times you times it by itself

Eg.

5^5 = 5x5x5x5x5

5^3 = 5x5x5
by
Makes total sense
by
You mean sense?
by
Thanks, now I'll stop being called dumb ^^

IM SO CONFUSED BC 2 to the power of four = 16? What i thought its 8 2x2x2x2=8
by (165k points)
+1
No. 2+2+2+2 = 8, not multiplication. 2x2 is 4, 4x2 is 8, then 8x2 is 16.

It means add that many zeros to the end only works for 10 and up example one to the power of two is 1 10 to the power of 2 is 1000

No. "to the power of" represents exponents (when there is a small number above a big number like 22). 22 means 2, multiplied by itself 2 times. 2x2 is 4. Take it from someone in a highschool level Algebra class.

Best and most straight forward answer

It means to multiply that number by itself. So for example: 9 to the power of 2= 81
by

actually it means to add that many zeros to the end for example 10 to the power of 2 =1000

wonderingactually, I am only 9 and I think the first answer is right because I know all my times tables up to 11 and see for yourself it is right

https://www.online-calculator.com/

and also I checked the calculator so you might need to type 9 to the power of 9

sorye wrong link

It means that you are using a certain number as an exponent. For example, to the power of three means that three is your exponent.

"To the power of" in other words means: an action in multiplication given the power to multiply a duplicate value times another value.  2 to the power of 3 is (2*2*2=8) or (2*2=4*2=8) very abstract.

What is the power of four than?!

More examples please.
by
+1
the power of 4 just means that number multiplied by itself 4 times.

e.g 2 to the power of 4 = 2x2x2x2 = 16

2 to the power of 5 = 2x2x2x2x2 = 32 and so on.
by
It does not mean that it means that many zeros to the end only works with tenet up for example one to the power of two is 1 10 to the power of two is 1000

Anonymous, I don't think you know what you're even talking about.
