We really leave it up to the Advice Column owners to promote their own content. Just staying active and writing good articles on a regular basis, such as "How To" topics for kids, etc., on your personal column will get it noticed more.
You don't need to wait for others to ask you a question. You might also get a lot of traffic from searches people do on Google and other search engines. For example, you have probably seen certain question on KidzTalk with a huge amount of visits. Those are almost always from search engines. Just stay active and your column will keep growing. It just takes time.
