Dear Advisors,
Recently I have had extreme symptoms of... well... depression and anxiety. I really, really want to tell my parents, and ask them if I could test to see if I am actually diagnosed with it. But I am a little scared of what could happen.
You see, my parents don't completely trust me. Every single time I try to tell them about how I feel, they turn me down, saying "(My name here), stop being so dramatic! You're fine, and you always will be. Now stop trying to make people feel sympathetic and bad for you, because it's not going to happen!"
I feel very strongly on this subject and am TORN about what to do. What should I say? How should I do it? Please help!
