"So," the man continued, "where are you from?" He glared at Beatrice in an unsettled tone of voice, as we all laid silent until Beatrice said, "Not from these parts." I grinned, but looking at Beatrice smiling at the man in a twisted way.
"I'm from-" Knight was cut off by the man. "Fallion?" He asked, his huge, glassy eyes staring into ours from the other side of the room.
"No," Knight said quietly, like something was going to happen. "My name is Star," I said nicely enough, having my attempt at the man to not turn into a monster, from the looks of it.
"Mr. Gallium," he smiled, his teeth crooked. "I'm Beatrice," Beatrice had the slight courage to say her name to the uncertain man, but so did I.
"Looks like you have no place to go, you could stay with me for a while," he looked into Beatrice's eyes for awhile, only giving his eye contact to her.
"Maybe a night," I agreed, but only because it seemed the children were awfully tired. "Oh, good," he went up from his red velvet seat, and pointed with his fingers to long stairs.
"Your room, boy, will be the on on the right of the castle, room 29," he moved his pointing finger to John, that seemed extremely confused on what was going on.
"Star, your with your friend here, left hand side room 23," he pushed us all over to the sides, not giving Beatrice directions. "And you, Beatrice, your with the boy," he smiled at her.
