Heya, Y’all!
At long last, the diagnosis is here. I digitally tested for ADHD with a doctor yesterday, and I have combined subtype. I am going to be going to therapy for it, but more like method therapy, not like sit-down-and-talk-about-your-feelings therapy. If the therapy doesn’t seem to be having an effect after a while, I am going to be switched over to trying meds. I dont have a problem with meds, mostly the main side effects are loss of appetite and waking up way too early in the morning, but I tend to sleep in so I think it’ll be okay. Honestly, I know that if a lot of people would have gotten this diagnosis they would have been like, ugh, oh no, or something like that. But for me honestly I’m just so happy that I have an explanation to why I cant sit right in a chair, forget my homework at least twice a week, and have a hard time with social cues. Thank y’all for putting up with me through the ups and downs, and I will continue to pay forward the support y’all give.
PS- my therapist said I might also have anxiety, but idk, maybe she’s right but I dont really have panic attacks much, unless it’s related to my phobias/I’m just uncomfortable in a situation. . It’s more of just a nagging, all-the-time indecisive worry that sometimes spikes and sometimes goes away, sometimes making me feel withdrawln, and sometimes (actually more than it probably should) I shiver a lot, not because I’m cold but idk. it this anxiety, too?
