Don't be Scared of Shaitan

Assalamu Alaikum!

We know that Shaitan is evil and does not like us. But don't be afraid of him. He is nothing but a loser. One of the worst of creation. He is insignificant and has no power over any of us.

Don't be afraid of Shaitan. Besides, we have Allah on our side. We don't depend of Shaitan for anything. We don't rely on him for any of our needs.

What is there to fear from Shaitan anyways? What the Shaitan actually do? If Shaitan can really hurt us, then none of us would be around. We would be gone by now because he does not like us. If Shaitan had any power over us he would stop us from eating and drinking and even breathing. But as evil as he is, he cannot do anything to us. We can eat and drink as we please.

But... he does have the power to whisper... to get this ideas to convince us to take our own actions. And Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) says in the Quran:

أعوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ

إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

That is only Shaitan who frightens [you] to his supporters, So fear them not, but fear Me. If you are [indeed] believers.

[3:175]

Allah (subhahu wa ta'ala) says in the Quran:

It is Shaitan who urges you to fear his followers. Do not fear them, but fear Me. If you are true believers.

May Allah bless you for writing such things as these. This is correct, I am currently fearing Shaytan, but I should be fearing Allah instead.

May Allah bless you too! Ameen.

Yes you're right, we should be fearing Allah instead. Allah says, "And whoever is in awe of standing before their Lord will have two Gardens. Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?" [55:46-47]

And I found a hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he said about this ayah: "There are two Gardens made of gold for believers who are granted special nearness to Allah; and there are two Gardens made of silver for the People of the Right [ that is, for general body of righteous believers ]."

If we feel fear for standing in front of Him and mind our actions, This genuine fear actually qualifies us for jannah; this fear is a blessing in disguise!
