Why do rappers and singers swear in songs, like-Spotify has my favorite song on it but like...it has no clean version of it and every time it has a swear word in it (It has one) I have to mute my device fast because when I hear a swear word it makes me feel uncomfortable like-my ears are bleeding. 2nd..music with bad words are kinda not allowed in Islam (I'm Muslim)

I'm sure those singers if they say those words to their family in real life they would get in trouble like "Don't say that word" is most likely what their parents would say to them, but there's no difference to say it to the whole world in a song. It's just useless to put a swear word in a song.

Besides..I love Ariana Grande now, my Spotify playlist has almost 20 Ariana Grande songs on it..I just wish she didn't swear so much. Her songs are also sometimes explict (I know I spelled it wrong)  Btw, Arianators where is the title "Excuse I love you" (Netflix documentary) from (which song) it's one of her only clean songs but the end has a lot of stuff.

Fax: as an Autistic 13-year old who is EXTREMELY sensitive to swearing, I don't understand why people like Swears in songs and less people like songs that are more meaningful. I get called a little baby for liking songs without swears. I mean, I don't like music in English (I only listen to music in Scandinavian  languages, with the exception of some Bilingual Norwegian/English songs)  so yeah

I agree. I'm also sensitive to swearing, but I can't control if my mom swears or not. (She swears at least once a day)

Mainstream rappers usually swear because they're trying to be edgy and they have nothing better to write for the bars. Same with most mainstream swears, more or less the edgy part. Swears are usually just expressional, and are used because it's natural for the artist to say a swear at that time, or they might need a couple of extra syllables. That said, I see most swearing as a lack of creativity. People swear because they have nothing else to say, it's a filler word. There are many more creative things you can say than saying the f-word every five minutes. Explicit isn't that bad, half of the stuff I listen to is explicit. And also, my parents cuss all of the time, the only reason I can't is that I'm a kid. Once I'm 18, my parents really don't care what I say.

I think swearing is dumb and shouldn’t exist.

Agreed. I don't like bad words either.

IDK about Ariana, but most of Alan Walker's songs don't have swearing in them. Well, except a few singles/remixes.

I'm okay with a song having one or two bad words in it (without repeating them). But for some reason, if a song is full of bad words or it repeats a bad word again and again, I don't listen to it anymore. It's annoying.
