in a cage
Freya stayed at the vet for a day so that she wouldn't be alone.
When the poofy-haired woman, whose name was Ashlyn Jones, came to get Freya. Ashlyn carried Freya back to Winifred. Freya listened to Madison and Ashlyn talking about her.
''And, um--'' Ashlyn cleared her throat ''You should give Frodo--''
''We're changing her name to Freya.'' said a voice. Brandon.
''Freya, OK.'' Ashlyn said.
Here comes the horrible car ride, Freya thought as Winifred rolled out of the parking spot.
Freya screamed at the top of her lungs the whole way home, and Madison kept yelling, ''WE'RE GOING HOME.''
Oh, no, thought Freya. Not again. She counted to one hundred inside her head. Soon Winifred pulled up at ''home,'' as Madison had said. But again and again the words repeated, WE'RE GOING HOME. Home, she thought. Suddenly, the trunk of Winifred opened and there were the Tomblins' faces, but Freya managed to fart in Madison's face.
''You smell really bad,'' she coughed. Frances laughed. ''Hi, baby.'' she said. So they all carried Freya into the house.
Brandon unlocked the door, coughed, and pushed it open.
Frances and Madison carried Freya inside. Madison and Brandon washed and washed and washed her, dried her with a blow dryer until her dead tail ended up looking fluffy, and bundled her up in blankets and cat beds, and locked her in a huge cage.
Freya sat there for what seemed like hours, crying.
''What have I done'' she sobbed.
''Freya'' meowed a voice. Freya looked up and started to purr. Jane had come.
''Are you OK'' Jane asked.
''I'm fine, really.'' lied Freya.
''Is that your friend,'' gasped a voice. It was Madison.
''What'' said her daughter.
''Freya and...you're calling her Jane, right'' said Madison.
''Yes.'' Frances said.
''Jane and Freya have been together. I've seen them.'' Madison said ''Grandma, we're getting her a gift.''
''Freya'' Madison's grandmother said. Her name was Norma White.
Frances and Madison talked to a woman named Alesia W. Krimminger about Freya. ''Hi, baby.'' Madison said as Freya yelled, 'Hey.'' at Jane.
It was the middle of the night wen they hung up, so Freya had time to escape. She darted between the counter and the kitchen table and threw herself into a dusty litterbox. She coughed. Something started dragging her back to her cage. Jane.
''What are you doing'' hissed Jane.
''Nothing.'' Freya meowed. Jane coughed. She threw Freya back in the cage and slammed the door in her face.
''OW.'' howled Freya. ''I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS.''
''We are.'' said Jane angrily.
''What is it, baby'' said a voice. It was Madison. Freya screamed. She burst into tears.
''WHY.'' screamed Jane.
