Okay, so I have a choice to make. Im a freshman technically, and we take a language in the second year.

We HAVE to take English, but since I've already proven I'm fluent in English, I can choose between Spanish and Chinese (there's also Ukrainian, but I have a good understanding of Ukrainian and I'm learning it on my own time)

I do wanna take Chinese because China is somewhere I've always wanted to visit and Chinese is beautiful. But Spanish just seems more practical I guess?

Mishka is taking Chinese, and almost everyone else is taking English because not many people here speak it (like they understand, but not fluently). Two of my other friends want to take Spanish because her family is moving to Spain soon after high school, and the other just wants to.

I have to take a language, btw, it's completely mandatory.

Do you guys speak any other langauges?

I am now Intermaide in Sámi (IDK how I sound weird when I speak Sámi) and Advanced in Norwegian :D

So this is random but the Sámi language is very complicated

How? Well.

The grammar.

Appearently the word "Son" is a pronoun. However, "son" is gender neutral. "Son" can be used as "she" or "he". Also "Su" is used as her. And "Son" is used as him

(In case you are wondering, the word "Daid" is They)

Usually when I read something in Sámi and they use "son" there is no context on the person's gender. I belived the last Time I read "son" with context was in a bilingual children's book in Norwegian and Sámi.

So this is a random fact but It's interesting so yeah

now, I know that sounds like a fever dream, but it excists.

Basically Finnglish was a language created by le Finnish-American Immigrants from the 1800s (SAIN comfirmation) It is a combination of Finnish and English, and here are some basic words (got this off wikipedia)

today, the language is at the point of death, with only 6,000 Speakers in Midwestern USA. (of course)

I'm learning Spanish, Chinese, and French currently! I'm not fluent in any of them, but one day I hope I can be!

Here's how to say hello in each language I'm learning (I know how to say hello in more languages but these are the ones I focus on most!).

Spanish: hola (you've most likely heard this before. It's a very common Spanish greeting)

Chinese: 你好 (in pinyin it's nǐ hǎo, but in this case "ni" is a rising tone and "hao" is like a valley, going down and then up. 你好 literally means "you good.")

French: bonjour/bonsoir/salut (bonjour actually means good day, not hello, but it's used as a greeting at daytime! Bonsoir is kinda like the night equivalent of bonjour. And then salut just means hi!)

Yep, I’m starting a program where you can learn Spanish. It’s not anything like Duolingo, though. It’s my own program.

Anyways, welcome, y’all! Maybe you already know Spanish and just want to check this out, maybe you know many languages but not Spanish, or you’re monolingual and trying to learn Spanish like me! SpanishImmerse is a program created by Spanish learners (more like me) for Spanish learners.

Anyways, in Unit 1, we focus on speaking and conversation. That’s the basis of a language.

Each day, 5 vocabulary words/sentences are our key focus. Today, we will focus on:

Hola. (Hello.)

¿Como estas? (How are you?)

Estoy bien. (I’m fine.)

¿Y tú? (And you?)

Estoy un poco cansado. (I am a little tired.)

Say the 5 key words/sentences like how the native Spanish speaker says it. When you’ve got it down, then say the key words (in Spanish) to someone or your stuffed animals. Or yourself.

A couple of days ago, I found out that you can highlight a text and translate it using Apple Translate. So I’m using Apple Translate now.

Edit: For Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, I will be using Apple Translate. For all other languages, I will use Google Translate. Also, I speak English, so I don’t need to translate that.
