Life update + Setup Reveal

I haven't posted an update in a while so I thought I would.

In most of my setup reveals, I've polished up my setup to make it seem like I'm the only organized programmer on the planet. I suddenly had the thought, "Why don't I show everyone what my setup looks like when I don't clean it?". So that's exactly what I did. Here ya go:

There ya go. I nomally don't have any soda cans in my room cuz I normally don't drink soda, but I recently fell in love with it.

Anywho, I'm currently working on my app which is going pretty well. I've been dealing with a few issues that are extremely hard to figure out (for me). The first is that when I flipped the switch that made my app ready to publish (for the tech nerds on here, its called Release mode), it would suddenly stop working. I'm not gonna share all the details (you can go look me up on StackOverflow if you're curious. Dw, I have no intention of sharing personal info on a site full of hackers and child trackers), but I did end up figuring it out. The other issue, is that when I try to publish ANY application, it just won't run. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Windows11 not trusting my apps, so I ain't gonna worry about it. I tried to just completely kill the Antimalware Windows Service but had no luck with that.

As for non-programming related stuff, I'm currently working at a resturant making food and thats goin well. I hope to join some other teen activities soon but I'll have to see about that. As for driving, I've only got like 45 more hours of practice before I can get my license so I've been trying to drive as much as possible.

And that's basically it. Also since I had to take that picture on my phone, I'm currently typing this entire question out on my phone, which would be super tedious, except for the fact that I bought an adapter that lets my type on my phone using my keyboard :)

Hello everyone! This is my first post of 2025 and I'm only posting for one reason and one reason only. This marks day one of the legendary snow blizzard that is called, "the worst this region has seen in recent history". We've currently got like 2 inches of snow covering the roads _{Yet all my coworkers are still required to go to work}and everyone is terrified. The power will most likely go out within the next hour or so which would be terrible but I'll manage (no, I don't run on electricity like some people probably think). I'll post pictures later if I feel the need to.

Anyways I don't have much else to say except for the fact that KidzSearch's servers have been glitching like crazy the past few minutes. I got multiple database and server errors while trying to select a category and even while typing this.

It's almost a new year! I know most of y'all are excited about all the traditions each of you have each year, whether that be traveling, opening presents, vibing with your fam, or just sitting around with no school to do!

Our family has a couple traditions that we do each Christmas. The first thing we like to do is talk about the gospel. We normally talk about each part of the Gospel across the entire year. I faintly highlighted the next part cuz it has a lot to do with God and some people might attack me for "forcing it down their throats" as some people put it so this is just a heads up encase you really can't handle hearing about a religion focused on love and servitude towards God and others. On the assumption of Mary, we talk about the first part of the Gospel which has to do with Adam and Eve and The Fall (We don't really celebrate the assumption of Mary but that happens to fit in well with everything. Not to mention that's my mom's spiritual birthday). On Christmas, we talk about the second half of the gospel which has to do with Jesus. After Adam and Eve sinned, all of the human race was destined to be sent to hell for their sins, but Jesus didn't want that to be the end. He came to Earth as a man and lived his life for God. He had the same struggles that we do, but he always followed God and made the right choice (In other words, he was a perfect example of how us Christians should live). Then he died on the cross, taking the penalty of eternal hell with it. On Easter, we talk about the third part of the Gospel, about how after Jesus died, he rose from the dead. Now, if we accept Jesus into our lives, he will give us his holy spirit to help us live for him. If we live our lives serving him (with the help of his holy spirit), then we will get to experience the same thing he did after he died. We will get to rise from the dead and live with him forever. The thing about Jesus' life that is completely different than that of a sinner, is that he lived his entire life loving and serving the other people around him. He washed people's feet and got sent to the cross to die, not to get paid, but simply because it was an act of love toward them. Literally every rule, law, and teaching in the bible boils down to love. Love other people the way God want you to. That's why we need God's holy spirit. Without him, how can we possibly serve and love others the way he want's us to? | At the end of the day, our entire family sits down and watches a random Christmas movie. This year we watched The Family Man (we started last night and haven't quite finished it yet), and A Christmas Vacation (we watched this one a few days ago). Other than that, I just sit around and stare at my computer all day.

What I want to know is, what are YOU doing for Christmas? Do you open presents? Do you sit around and stare at a screen all day (like me)? Or do you travel to see your distant relatives that you didn't know exist? When I check back on this post, I hope to see the answers overflowing!

I've realized that those songs aren't the best influence so I've completely revamped my music style. Pretty much every song is made by a Christian artist except for Surfaces and David Morris. So if you all have been reading my other posts, you would know that I had just realized that my permit test was in a few days and I haven't done any studying for at least a month.

Anyways, I took my test this morning and passed with flying color (get it? Cuz I'm color blind. Oh forget it.) There was one question that I was thinking about for a minute and then suddenly one of the three answers (which happened to be the answer) was enlarged and bolded as if indicating it was the correct answer. Ofc I chose that answer... ...but not after telling the sherif. He was completely confused and had no clue what happened.

But yeah, thanks for the support! Now excuse me while I drive to the nearest McDonalds to get fat.

The first one is called Wellerman (Sea Shanty) by Nathan Evan. Its a completely different style of song than what I normally listen to but it rocks like heck. Also for some reason it reminds me of something Carly would listen to.

The second song is called Victoria's Secret by Jax. I made a post recently asking what the cringiest but most catchy songs are and I believe Victoria's Secret was one of them but I couldn't find it. The only way I was able to find it was because pandora was on autoplay. It's a cool song with a catchy tune but the lyrics kind of make me cringe.

The final song is called Stitches by Shawn Mendes. This song rocks and has a catchy tune but also has some great lyrics.

Overall assessment:

Wellerman - 6.5/10 - Great song but it's not one of those songs that I think Imma keep forever cuz it's not 100% my style.

Victoria's Secret - 6/10 - This song is catchy but the lyrics are too cringe to rate any higher.

Stitches - 7.5/10 - Great song but could be better.

I remember when I was only like 8 or 9 I sold lemonade and brownies with my sister until we each got $16 for Tynker premium (at the time it was $200 for premium and my dad paid the rest). Tynker is responsible for sparking my imagination for all the things I could create with just a bit of logic.

I started out doing scratch in Tynker and made a few games until I found the toggle a few years later to switch to python. My dad immediately came into the room and was like, "If you want to learn how to do real programing with text, Tynker isn't the way to do it." So, I went to the python website and downloaded the IDE and just started experimenting.

At the time, I was obsessed with Minecraft and just made some huge minecraft quizzes with the little bit of programing knowledge that I had. When I hit 70 lines of code, I was so happy.

A short while later, my dad and I had the great idea of making a video game. We had a few options for game making platforms; Gamemaker (uses GML programing language), unity engine (uses C#), or Unreal Engine (I have no clue what languages UE uses. I was too scared to touch it). After a ton of discussion, we decided we were going to make our game in Unity. It was going well for a few months but then when it actually required work and I couldn't just copy code like I had been doing, I pretty much gave up.

After that, I was in search for a way to make apps and games without some special aid like unity. That's when I came across MooICT. He's a youtuber that makes tutorials for games in WinForms. I did a TON of research, and it looked like WinForms was the way to go for making modern apps (keep in mind this was only a few years ago, in 2020). For the past 4 YEARS, I've been using WinForms to make apps and have come a long way. So long in fact, that I got as far as creating my own browser with great parental controls and restrictions.

Once I finished the first release of my browser, I was like, "Darn bro, why does this look so old????". You see, when I started out with WinForms, I didn't have access to a real browser so I wasn't capable of doing the research required to find that WinForms is a whole stinking 22 YEARS OLD. Now that I had my own browser, I was able to do the research to find that WinForms was that old. I did a bit more research to find out that this insane technology called Windows App SDK was released a few years ago which used something called WinUI 3. This was about 3 days ago. Now I'm in the process of learning how to use XAML and C# together to make a functional, visually appealing (No that's not what I mean) browser.

So as you guys probably know, I'm working on a HUGE app project. Up until now, I've been using a windows template called Windows Forms App (WinForms for short). I've been using winforms for about 3-4 years and the ENTIRE stinkin time I've been silently complaining at how old everything looks, and I've been redesigning different components to look more modern [I literally remade the tabControl (which is basically just a little tab system) because it looked so old]. Today I finally decided to figure out what the hunk is going on. I figured out that WinForms was literally made in 2002 and I shouldn't be using it. Now my computer is currently installing a new sorta package called WinUI which should allow me to make everything look better without sucking so much XD.

I'm pretty happy, but at the same time, I'mma have to completely restart on my app :/

If you have no clue whats going on, a bracket { defines a block of code. 2 forward slashes // deletes that part of the code.

Everyone who deals with computers knows this one fact: no loading bar is accurate. Either it says there are 2000 years remaining when it really has 1 second left (that literally happened to me a few days ago) or it says 1 minute remaining but doesn't finish till midnight.

Quick story: How I almost got a virus

Soooooo, some of yall might know that I've been working on making a web browser that's safe for kids. Kinda like KS but better (jkjkjk).

Anyways, I had it setup so there was a list of allowed sites like "minecraft.net" and then the app would allow the site if the search box CONTAINS minecraft.net. Well, I figured out that since I was only checking if it CONTAINS minecraft.net, I might be able to type something like somethingminecraft.net and it would allow it. So, I tested it. Im not gonna say what website it was, but long story short, I almost got a virus. Multiple popups appeared saying "click the allow button to verify you're a human!". Yeah... totally not a virus at all.

Anywho, I ended up just going to the task manager and force quiting my browser.

Tech tip: IF u ever end up in a sketchy site that you think might be dangerous, DONT click the X button to close the window. Some websites will rig that button to download the malware if you click the x button. Instead, you can press Alt + F4 to force quit the browser, therefore keeping yourself from getting a virus on your computer. :D

Goodbye Minecraft. Forever.

Minecraft has been apart of my entire childhood. When I was sad I would go to minecraft.

Today is the day I said one final goodbye to minecraft and cancel my realms subscription. I decided tot ake a few pictures of my world to show yall before I get rid of it. This is my best minecraft world by far.

All the shulkers on the right were my backup suits of ultimate netherite armor. My main suit along with my spare elytra, tools, and totem shulkers are in the center.

It was fun playing minecraft and I will most certainly miss all the fun.

So.... I legit just learned how to hack into any windows computer that I have physical access to (just to be clear I hate hackers and will never be one). My main computer has my account (which is not an admin) and my dad's acc which has admin. I just hacked into it and gave myself admin access (ofc I reverted it afterwards and Imma tell my dad when he is finished working) without ever figuring out my dad's password. But bro I'm so excited.

Business Update - Alpha's Tech Blog #2

Welcome back everyone to my 2nd tech blog post. A lot has happened since my last blog post and I am really eager to tell everyone about it.

From where we left off, I had stopped playing minecraft and started to focus more on my schoolwork. I went for a few walks with my dad and we started talking about my business and he gave me some great ideas that could help my future business skyrocket (my dad is a genius and engineer who focuses on problem solving). I was so hyped up with all these business ideas that I couldn't wait any longer. I decided that I was gonna start my business now. I started off by creating a massive paragraph on my business and what it was about. I then worked with my mom to create a Facebook post in our neighborhood group advertising my business (I call it a neighborhood but in reality its something a bit different than that but if I told you guys then you could find me). After a few days, I had many customers.

You guys are probably wondering what my business is about. Basically, my business is a IT Support business (if you already guessed that then congrats). I have people from all over my neighborhood come to me with broken laptops and other devices that they need fixed. They fill out a google docs form with all the details of their issue and I meet with them in person and pick up the laptop.

The problem is that a few weeks go by and I want to grow my business cuz I don't have enough income to make a living (I've only made $56 so far but I have a lot of customers that are still in the process of filling out my form). I start by figuring out what I need to have ready in the future by the time I am able to buy a building and have my business available to people across the country. I came to the conclusion that I would need to have some way of advertising my business to the country so I visited ads.google.com and spent some time learning about how that works. Turns out, I will need a website to setup the kinds of ads I want. For the past week I have just been working on making a website. Once KS can find a way of allowing high res pictures on here I'll show my website and code. Here is a very low resolution screenshot of my desktop:

As an added bonus, I'll show my irl computer setup in a later post cuz my pc has a terrible webcam.

So, before I get to the main point, I need to give you all some backstory. Basically, my long-term plan for life is to create a gaming center that is fun for everyone and safe for kids (using my parental control software obviously). Well.... YESTERDAY MY DAD TOOK ME TO A GAMING CENTER AND I GOT SO MANY IDEAS AND LOOKED AT ALL THE SOFTWARE THEY USED ON THE COMPUTERS AND ITS SO AWESOME DUDE ITS AMAZING. After I took notes and such, my dad and I played games for 4 hours :D. Our goal was to find a new fun game to play. We tried FNAF (ngl it was boring), Content Deleted, and PalWorld. Palworld was the best and that's what we played for like 3 hours. It's a mix between Minecraft, Albion online, and Pokémon. It was amazing!!!!!!

Welcome and thank you for clicking on my first tech blog post! Since this is my first post I will just give a little bit of background and information about myself cuz that seems like the best thing to post at first.

As some of you know, I'm 15 and I was obsessed with minecraft for like 4 years. Well, I was also obsessed with technology and had already decided that I was gonna work in IT when I grew up because God had given me a natural ability to fix technology. One day, I went into my room and found this massive book on my desk and it looked like this:

Just as a clarification for nerds, this is the newer version of the book and at the time I had the older version but I couldnt find it so I had to take a picture of the newer one.

At first I had no idea what it was so I went to my dad and asked him what it was. Turns out, it was a study book for the CompTIA A+ certification. My dad and I had a longer talk about what that was and that I should try to get that certification because it will really help me get a head start into the IT industry. So, I spent a couple years studying that book until I felt I was ready to attempt the first half of the CompTIA A+ certification. Tbh, I kind of thought it was going to be like one of those vocabulary tests that I used to take when I was little. Well, my dad drove me out to the test center and I spent 2 hours taking the $250 exam. I failed. At the time I was like 12 so I cried and felt disappointed in myself. Even though I didn't see it at the time, this was actually a good thing that I failed because I was taking the outdated version of the exam that expired in like a month. A few months later, my dad bought me the Updated version of the CompTIA A+ book. I studied and studied for 2 more years and passed both the exams with flying colors. When I passed the second exam (January 19, 2024), I received an email saying that I was officially a certified technician. My certificate arrived in the mail and it's hanging on my wall rn. 99% of the credit goes to my dad who encouraged me the whole way and helped me through every step and trial.

After that, I didn't want to work cuz STUDYING FOR THAT EXAM WAS SO HARD, so I pretty much just played minecraft all day and got super behind on my school. A month after my exam, my dad and I had a talk and we both agreed that I was addicted to minecraft, so I quit. It was very hard and I had dreams about it for like a month but ya. Since the end of February, I have been working on building a company that I really wanna do. My goal has always been to create the best parental control software which I will talk more about in my next blog post.
