Book is sitting in a couch, in their home. They live in Glendale, Arizona. Little did they know, this would soon not be the place they recognized. The tv turns to a blue screen, before showing a broadcast.

"Hello city! I am ronald_school620, your host for this emergency broadcast. You are probably wondering why this is on right now. Let me explain. You, and your family, are not safe. You are probably also wondering why. There is a new virus, Alces morbus. This virus is a 10 stage infection, turning you into a moose/elk type creature. In other words, you will turn into a moose if you catch this virion. This virion looks like a Bacteriophage. But, it targets human cells, turning them into a cancerous cell with moose DNA. This will slowly make you turn into a moose, and will them spread to your brain in stage 5, shrinking your brain, turning you into the big wandering creatures of North America. You will be 10 feet tall, strong as an elephant, with warts all over you. The water has been infected by this virus by me, and I am the one who created it. Whoever are the last 5 alive get the cure. Before that, all crime is legal. Doctors, Physicists, Nurses, Scientists, Electricians, and other important jobs are excluded, and will be kept in a shelter in Greenland. Good luck. May the fittest survive. It will also only be night, as I coded a gigantic organism in the sky, that makes an array of clouds. This will make the area freezing. After that being the deal for 6 months, the next 6 months will be just day."

The power goes out. "What‽" They yell. Just then, a giant moose rams into their house. Eager to infect them, the slams a quarter of the house into rubble, and throws Book into the streets. Book feels lightheaded, and runs away. Little did he know, this would be a more painful decision.

Wispy gathered water with a bucket down at a creek. She didn't know about the broadcast, about the virus upon the world currently. She walked back to her camp site out in the woods. This was her only home. She picked berries and killed animals for food, while also drinking moving river water after filtering it using a straw of some sort. She grabbed a homemade atlatl, hearing a sound from inside the woods. It was a moose.

She thrusted a spear at the moose, piercing the skin. Then, she ran under the moose, stabbing it there and dodging attacks. But, after one weak position, she is thrown by the moose. This doesn't stop her. She jumps onto the moose, stabbing it's head; before jumping off as it went down. More food to go around.

Ronald leaves the broadcasting station. He walks to his house. It has been burned to the ground.

The only thing left was his basement, which hadn't burned. He placed the key into the lock and opened the door to the basement. He walked inside. When he did, he noticed a person outside. He walked over and peered into the basement. It was nonbinary emo child. They shouted at Ronald, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Ronald looked up, "IM DOING VERY IMPORTANT STUFF IN HERE, DONT COME IN."

Then, the child remembered his face.

Emo child went in, detached a table leg, and knocked out Ronald with it. Then, he took the keys and pushed Ronald out of the basement while also locking himself in. There was all sorts of science, biomedical, and virology equipment. This was no basement. It was a lab. All sorts of textbooks and research material organized neatly in 3 cabinets.

Lena had a problem. A big problem.

Her little brother, Max, had somehow gotten his hands on her one secret stash of candy—the emergency, never-to-be-touched, LAST RESORT candy. And now he was running around the house, shoving handfuls of it in his mouth like some sort of sugar-gremlin.

“I’LL GIVE YOU FIVE BUCKS TO PUT THAT DOWN!” Lena yelled, chasing him through the kitchen.

Max cackled like a maniac and parkoured over the couch. “TOO LATE, LOSER!” he screamed, spraying Skittles everywhere.

Lena dove for him. Missed. Crashed face-first into a chair.

“I HOPE YOU STEP ON A LEGO!” she shrieked, rubbing her nose.

Then, disaster struck.

Max suddenly froze. He blinked, swayed a little, and clutched his stomach.

Lena’s eyes widened. “Oh no.”

Max let out a weak, tragic whisper:

“…I ate too much.”

Lena had approximately three seconds to react before Max violently threw up a rainbow of candy right onto their mom’s brand-new white carpet.

Silence.

They both stared at the mess in horror.

Then—

“IF MOM SEES THIS, WE’RE DEAD!”

Cue absolute mayhem. They threw every towel, every paper napkin, every random sock they could find on the disaster zone. Max tried to rub it out with his sleeve. Lena dumped an entire bottle of Febreze onto the carpet like she was performing an exorcism. The room now smelled like a horrifying mix of fake lavender and regret.

Then, the worst thing possible happened.

A car pulled into the driveway.

Mom was home.

Lena and Max locked eyes.

“Run?” Max whispered.

Lena nodded.

They were never seen again.

(Just kidding. They were totally caught. And grounded for eternity.)
