I did yes post this on a kn post that was called therian/furry talk!

here it is (I copied and pasted it from there bc I don’t feel like writing for the next 20-30 minutes)

Let me explain what therians and furrys are real quick.

also I myself am a therian and a furry

A therian is some one who either has an animal soul, or a past life (as an animal). You can have both too!
there is another type of therian which (I’m pretty sure) they believe that their theriothopy is neurotypical. So instead of them being a therian by having a past life or soul of an animal. They believe that their theriothopy is caused from something mental. (I hope I used the terminology correctly)

qaudrobics and gear do not make make someone a therian.

and we know we are human. So no, we do not think we are animals. That is something else entirely.

now let’s talk furrys.

a furry is someone who has an interest in anthropomorphic animals (a animal with human characteristics)

we usually expressed ourselves by making/buying fursuits. Some of us also expressed ourselves/interest by drawing our or others (with permission ofc) fursonas!

what I’m trying to say is we just have an interest in anthropomorphic animals. We do not think we are animals, act like animals ect.

it is simply a hobby. Most of us are actually really passionate about arts and crafts!

okay. So. I’m going to talk about quads! (Aka quadrobics)

someone who does quadrobics (a quadrobatist)
is not a therian or a furry because they do quads. Nor do they think they are animals.

quadrobic is a sport and an (almost) full body exercise. So it take a lot of work, energy and practice to get good at them.

now, don’t let me discourage you! Quadrobic is hard yes, and if you’re not careful you can get hurt. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a valid thing!

you should be proud if your able to do them. And if you can’t yet that is okay! It take practice.

Here are some common misconceptions explained:

"Furries and therians are the same thing. Stop trying to convince me they're not."

Actually, furries and therians are not the same thing. Furries are cosplayers, and therians identify NON-phsyically as animals. Did I say non-phsyically?

"You're not an animal."

Therians do NOT believe they are animals, and 100% know they are human. I think you are talking about lycanthropy, which is a mental illness in which a person literally thinks they are an animal.

"You're mentally ill."

Actually, no, I am not mentally ill. Again, you are talking about lycanthropy, which is an actual mental illness, and should get treated. And anyways, even if I was mentally ill, it wouldn't help to point it out.
