When I was about 3/4 my dad spanked me once or twice and my dad is also a loud person. Whenever I get into trouble, i’m mostly worried about my dad, not the consequences. I worry about him yelling at me and that he might spank me again. My dad has threatened to throw away everything I have multiple times and he always seems to me mad at me.

Last week i hit someone with my lunch box, which I got 3 day OSS for and today I hit slapped someone in the face and I have 5 day OSS, the school said that their parents can press charges against me if they want. (i hit people because they have been continuously threatening my friend, makes up false allegations, and the school has done nothing about it even after telling them 10+ times)

Ever since I was in preschool, ive been hitting or yelling at people out if anger, which has caused me to be kicked out of preschool, have numerous suspensions, and office visits. I act out without thinking about what Im doing

This is some stuff that is going on with my dad today and in the past..

1: In the morning, he thought I was sneaking last night with my iPad, (because I did last week) BUT I DIDN’T!! I WAS TRYING TO GO TO SLEEP!!

2: Just because I wasn’t paying attention to what he was saying one time at dinner, he said “If you won’t listen to me, I won’t listen to you.” And I don’t want that! I just was paying attention to eating!

3: So in the past. When I was trying to understand what he meant one time, he told me to go upstairs and I heard him say Idiot. And then I started to cry because I knew that he was saying that I was an idiot. When he came upstairs a few mins ago saying why are you crying? It was because of what he said and then he said “Just get over it.” It REALLY HURT my feelings

4: He always yells at me because I don’t understand stuff and also when I don’t pay attention to what he says, he says that he’s talking to a wall. (I’m the wall)

5: He doesn’t listen to what I say too.

What should I do? I live in his house!

I don’t want to get yelled at the whole year!

I'm 11 and I live with my parents and an older sister. My sister always gets away with things and is obviously the favourite child. I've got a phone but even though I just get on it after the whole day, my parents yell at me for being on my phone even though my sister, who is 14, has been on it for 3 hours straight. I always get the blame and get yelled at for things I haven't done because I was busy. Am I overreacting?

I really think he has no respect to me just because I am his stepdaughter and i think its not fair when he does no throw any stuff away from my brother (his biological son) 1. I made a post abt this a few months back, abt how my dad has been having panic attacks. He is on meds now, which is good, but that doesn't mean its not still scary when he has panic attacks. His face goes pale and he breaths rly heavily and a few days ago when he was cooking, he almost fell over.

And this shouldn't affect me. But it does. My mom has cried bc she's stressed and I don't wanna stress her even more by telling her I had a panic attack a few weeks ago.

I just needed to say that.

Although I am in the suburbs with my grandparents and my dad isn't with me, he put CCTV cameras everywhere just to spy on me, when he finishes spying, he'll phone me for an hour to ask me what am I doing (he's actually showing me what he had spied on me)

I was in the kitchen with my dad and I started talking about LGBTQ+ and Transgender rights (im genderfluid, aromantic, and omnisexual), and he started accusing me of only being LGBTQ+ because I was "watching other people talking about it and that I wouldn't worry about that because im a minor". What he basically said is that I was influenced to be gay and just " hopped on a trend" (being LGBTQ+ is NOT a trend). And I also asked him for a binder a few months ago and he kept brushing it off and ignoring it.

I also brought up the idea of genderfluid/non binary/genderless bathing suits, since summer is coming up in my country and all my other bathing suits are bikinis, which I don't really feel comfortable in. He went dead silent and continued staring at his phone, which made me feel so left out and unheard. I know he wants to love and accept me openly but he doesn't know how.

He said he accepts me, but he treats my sexuality and gender identity like it isnt important. Im 12, and he acts like im unable to know what I identify as at this age. I just wish I could freely talk to him about it, but every convo I have about it ends with us yelling at each other and me crying in the bathroom later on.

I dislike my mom, and my grandparents live in Canada so I can't talk to them. My dad is my only other option but I barely see him since my parents are divorced. Don't get me wrong, my dad is such an amazing person and I love him so much, but sometimes its hard. He does everything to make sure me and my siblings are happy, but I hate when he acts like this. During our argument today, he ended it by saying "just know that ill always love you and you'll always be my daughter", to which I responded " daughter? How long until I stop being someone's daughter? I hate being like this, im always someone's daughter. Do you think I want to be a daughter, or a girl, or a woman? Am I nothing else?". He paused before saying "you're my child then" and walked away.

I guess im just trying to say that I wish every conversation we had didnt go like this and that I could speak openly with him. I see other parents and their kids and I get so jealous. I suffer from teenage depression and I wish I could openly discuss it with my dad and that he'd listen and not just say im being influence by someone else. Most of the people in my life, like ex-lovers, ex-friends, and even my own mother have told me so many things that make me feel like everything I think or do is just another overreaction. My dad thinks im overreacting, and when I started talking about all the anti-lgbtq things that have been happening in my country, he just asked why I cared so much since it "didn't affect me" and that I was getting to riled up and that I was overreacting.

Anyone else relate? Im sorry if this sounds rushed or poorly worded, I'm having a really bad day.

I’m 15 and I’ve been afraid of my dad for a couple of years, I’m afraid he’ll find out I’m a lesbian and that I’m on social media talking to people I don’t know. I’ve never given out my real name, or stuff like that, I’ve only ever given out my age, that’s it. The people I talk to are also around my age, 15-18, and I barely ever even talk to them. And it’s not even like I’m trying to be in a relationship, I just want people to talk to. I’ve been homeschooled for a few years so I don’t have a choice, what else am I meant to do if I want to make friends. I'm also afraid that he’ll find out I talk to my friend who I’ve known for over 10 years, this friend told me what being gay meant, and he has always seen them as a bad influence. I’m tired of being lonely. I’m tired of being scared all the time. I don’t know what to do.

He doesn’t hit me, but he’s.. scary. Not intimidating, it’s to the point that I fear when I hear footsteps or people coming up the stairs.

He pounds on my door when I take too long to get dressed or sleep in.

I get annoyed and even scared when I have to go home when he’s the only one there. He scares me.

My mom is super nice, but it seems that to her the only way for me to be scared of him is if he hits me. She even works in Youth Mental Health.

Is it my anxiety and paranoia making everything worse?

I’m too scared to tell anyone because then they’ll tell my dad and he’ll get mad and say that he never did that or that he’s sorry, but then he just does it again.

I think I might be beyond scared.. I’m terrified of him. But I can’t leave. If I leave then he might get mad at my sister, and I need her to be safe. He doesn’t scare her, he’s nice to her. I need to keep it that way.

I can’t talk to anyone and I can’t talk to him. What do I do? Please help
