so basically, my entire preteen and teen life (yk the age where you start to care more about what others think) I've always dressed very lazy (like sweat pants, hoodies, over sized t-shirts, etc) and I would never wear make up even though I had access and really wanted to. The only time I ever wear dresses or anything like that is when there's an event. And I am absoutly terrified of wearing a dress and makeup to school, and there's two reasons I believe for that. One, I figured out a while ago was that I feel like if I dress lazy and don't put effort into my outfit and people judge my outfit then its like oh okay I could've done better and it doesn't really count, but when I wear a outfit that I tried really hard on and worked on and like and enjoy and I get judged that would ruin my confidence, two, I am always told not to wear any tank tops or anything like that, even sometimes in the comfort of my own home. my parents, but mostly my grandma, think that when I wear shorts and a tank top i'm trying to get male attention... even if I am just going to my house. they always tell me what to wear and what to do and yeah. I want to dress how I want to dress. I got a little bit of confidence to match with my cousin last vacation, (she can wear more things without getting in trouble even tho shes younger) shes my best friend aswell so we went into a store to buy things with money we both saved up and we ended up getting a body suit and skirt, the entire time that we tryed it on, bought it, brung it home, and wore it, I was so scared that my grandma would say something to me that I almost didn't want to wear the outfit even though me and my cousin wore the same fit. and what made it worse is that I was more developed and the v neck part kept coming down and I kept having to pull it up which made it worse. they didn't really say anything but they did talk about it. idk what to do I just want to dress how I want and not be scared of what others think can someone please give me some advice on what to do here? I'm currently homeschooled and will be coming back to school this month, so maybe its the perfect time to dress like myself? I don't know I just need help.
