Yall can say the month in the poll and if you're comfortable saying, drop your age and birthday/month in the answers!

(I definitely did not triple check to make sure I got all the months)

How Many Drops Can You Fit On A Coin?

In this experiment we will explore how many drops of water you can fit on the surface of a coin.

Materials:

A coin

A dropper

A cup of water

Experiment:

Fill a dropper with water.

Slowly drop water on a coin. Hold very steady and use your finger to stabilize the dropper as shown in the picture above. Count the number of drops that fit without spilling over versus what you expected. Try this with different size coins.

My Guess:

50

Reality:

<60

Comment below if you tried this experiment.

Can you fit more drops with other liquids? If you add soap to the water, do you expect more or less drops? What about hot versus cold water? What accounts for the difference?

Homemade Freezer Experiment

In this experiment we will create a homemade freezer and make ice cream.

Materials:

A bag of ice cubes

A cup of salt (NaCl)

200ml milk

Ice cream powder

String rod

Beaker (500 ml)

Strong zip-lock bags (2liters)(500 ml

Alcohol thermometer

(25 ml) beaker

Experiment (Part 1):

Put a few ice cubes in a beaker.

Measure its temperature using the alcohol thermometer.

Add a spoon of salt.

Experiment (Part 2):

Mix in the 500ml beaker the milk and the ice cream powder.

Pour the mixture in the small zip lock bag and seal it.

Put the sealed bag in the bigger bag with the ice and salt.

Seal the bag and shake very well.

Leave it for 4 hours but keep shaking periodically.

What do you expect will happen?

If you did the experiment, what did you discover?

How To Put A Bubble On Your Hand?

In this experiment we will explore surface tension and see if you can hold a bubble in your hands.

Materials Needed:

A glove

A dish soap

A pipit or straw

A small plate

Expected Outcome Guess:

It will burst.

We can’t put it on a surface.

Experiment:

Put some of the soap in the plate. Wear the gloves.

With your other hand take the pipit and drop it in the plate where you put the soap, then take it and blow in the sky. Try to hold the bubble on the glove.

What do you expect will happen? What actually happened? Please comment below.
