Sooo…<br /> <br /> I wrote a poem at school for a contest, first place winner! My poem will be voted on nationally, and I also won poet of the year at my school!<br /> <br /> The grand prize (nationally) is 500 dollars, and there will be random drawings of tablets and laptops! Awesomeness!!!<br /> <br /> It’s exciting, and if I’m to be honest, I did NOT expect to even come close to winning.<br /> <br /> Anywho, here’s the poem below, if you want to see it!:<br /> <br /> “ A lamb just born,<br /> <br /> To a land, so warm.<br /> <br /> With wool so soft,<br /> <br /> Such protects thee from frost.<br /> <br /> Although even with such a shield,<br /> <br /> The lamb will still yield.<br /> <br /> Through the harshest of winters,<br /> <br /> Wood still ends up with splinters<br /> <br /> Yet the lamb feels no fear,<br /> <br /> For his mother is near.<br /> <br /> She stands sturdy like a log,<br /> <br /> Covering her cosset from dark fog.<br /> <br /> And although it won’t be long,<br /> <br /> Until she will end up gone.<br /> <br /> She continues to hold still,<br /> <br /> Waiting for the end of the chill.” Poetry Contests https://www.kidzsearch.com/questions/656353/forgot-to-mention-this-buttt Sat, 17 May 2025 19:57:50 +0000
