Our orange Molly is pregnant

This is the second time in two years that I’ve had an orange molly that is pregnant.

Basically my nana gave me a few fish bc we wanted some, and they were getting rid of theirs, so I wound up with a few fish—one an orange Molly.

And she was pregnant.

I already had a big fish in my fish tank, named toilet fish (that’s a whole other level of lore that will be saved for another time), and he has had a track record of eating smaller fish.

Anyway, she gave birth to an unknown number of baby’s, and then got eaten—along with all the baby’s except 3.

We moved toilet fish out, and a few months later he died (RIP. P.s. he was like 4 years old atp, so pretty old for the type of fish he was)

Fast forward to the now(yes I made u read through fish lore just bc), two mollys are still alive(male and female), and I had suspected the female had gotten pregnant. I only now confirmed that suspicion bc my cat nocked off the fish food from the table, and made me look at the fish.

If give it another week, max one and a half weeks, till she bursts.

I’ll have to move the adults into the spare fish tank after she gives birth, because mollys will eat their young if they want.

But ya

I have another pregnant fish now.

lol, it’s funny because our mother said that we weren’t getting anymore fish(ToT) once these ones dye, and then one just gets pregnant to continue the family lineage.

Hah

Take that, the fish are on my side for this one.

I was watching shorts and saw this bloop thing called, well... the bloop... and they didn't really tell me anything so I'm like, clueless. can sombody tell me what this fish thing is?

Fish do not get thirsty bc their gills keep a good amount of water in their bodies. To quote Google:

"It is unlikely that fish have such a driving force. Fish have gills that allow them to “breathe” oxygen dissolved in the water. Water enters the mouth, passes over the gills, and exits the body through a special opening. This keeps an adequate amount of water in their bodies and they don't feel thirsty."
