she was like “Put you fidgets and sketchbooks away, everyone! I want you all to actually focus on the lesson.”

FIDGETS ARE FOR HELPING U FOCUS

i guess it’s just because there are a whole bunch of neurotypical kids in my class who just use the fidgets as toys and not as fidgets

i usually just sketch in class. it actually does help me focus

She also does other stuff to try and help us focus, like telling us to close our eyes and just listen to her talk

Unfortunately that doesnt work for me bc when i close my eyes i see bright clouds of color floating around and shifting hues and static (visual snow stuff) and it actually distracts me bc im always trying to find images in the color and then also the static can be a bit bothersome sometimes

I mean shes trying her hardest and i guess i dont blame her bc im just weird and her methods appear to work for the majority of my classmates

Idk tho

Also she’ll be like “look at me so I know you’re listening”

I CANT LISTEN TO HER WHILE IM MAKING EYE CONTACT I USE ALL MY FOCUS ON MAINTAINING IT AND HAVE NONE LEFT FOR LISTENING

For some reason I also focus better when im holding a pencil… then she’s like “put down ur pencils everyone!”

oh and like as soon as she says something like that I just cant focus anymore no matter what i do

Like if she didnt say to stop sketching and i just stopped on my own i can focus better than if she told me to stop sketching
