I’m working on a plot, It is slightly a cliche trope, but I working on making it really different from the others, other than, of course what makes it the “magic school trope”.

I know cliche,

But,

I have a really good plot idea that is different from most. (It doesn’t have a pronounced antagonist, as in there isn’t a main “bad guy” ex: Voldemort. It’s more of obstacle[s] + a bunch of other things).

Now the question I have for yall is, what biological gender and/ or gender identity, should I make the protagonist?

I’m leaning towards female/girl and or a more feminine character, since there is more then twice as much male protagonists then females in books as a whole.

Also, whatever gender you choose I am going to either make them, or the side character gay :00 (whichever one I don’t chose to be gay is going to be straight, FYI)

I genuinely don’t know if that is important information for you decision

Also here are the school uniforms/inspo for the uniforms. (I have yet to draw the final design)

(“Boys”: slacks, that coat thing, and tucked flannel. “Girls”: plaid skirt, that sweater looking thing, the coat thing, and tights. “Other”:whatever that shirt thing is, tie, chino pants, and that coat thingy)

The characters are actually given a choice to pick!

But if you want a general idea of what they would be wearing that is it.

So, what should their gender be?
