Why do solar eclipses happen?

So, I think I've only seen a Solar Eclipses once or maybe twice, I only remember seeing it once. And it was pretty cool :D! But of course, you all should always cover your windows because you don't want to damage your eyes if you see it directly directly. But I don't really know 'why' they happen. So, do any of you know why they happen? They are pretty cool but then, why does it happen?

Scene: Cosmic Flashback — Skips & Pops

Skips (grinning):
You’ve come far, Mordecai…
But you still remind me of my younger self.

Mordecai:
You’re saying that like it’s a bad thing!

Skips:
Not bad. Just… incomplete.

(He channels pure lightning aura.)

Skips:

Final Scene — Ultimate Clash

Mordecai:

Rigby (in background):
Bro, are you sure about this?!

Mordecai:

(They fist bump — lightning explodes in every direction, forming the shape of giant sunglasses across the sky.)

Skips (smiling through the smoke):

(Explosion fades. The park glows with morning light.)

Benson (offscreen, yelling):

Mordecai & Rigby (in unison):

(Freeze-frame. Guitar outro plays.)

i wuz just coding something for fun, but im pretty proud of it!

what I made was a gregorian to lunar date calender, using a dating system I developed myself!

here's a little demo, and tell me what your birthday is in the lunar dating system! mine is the Waning Gibbous of Lunation 1085 Epslion.

The Corvettefan Show! (Moon episode PT 2: Continued!) (Episode 9, Jan 16 2025)

*moon and Corvette are backstage, waiting. Moon still wants an explanation for what happened earlier*

"Wait, what do you mean? Didn't you kill Jimmy?" *moon says, in response for Corvette saying the mysterious figure killed Jimmy*

"No, it wasn't me. It never was me. I would never kill Jimmy, he was a nice guy. Its that...thing...that did it."

*corvette opens the curtain a little. the mysterious dark figure can be seen walking onstage, clearly looking for them. Corvette is terrified.* "We have to go."

*moon and Corvette go outside through the back door, evading the figure.*

"Corvette. What's this about? What does that thing want from you?"

"He doesn't want anything from me. He wants me. (don't take that out of context) He wants my soul. He's not human. He wants to possess me. That's what was possessing me when I killed Jimmy. He made me do it. He inhabited my body, making me his puppet. Moon, you need to get out of here."

"But, I have magic powers, don't I? Couldn't that be of use?"

"Trust me, it wont. That guy is immune to magic. He's not human. Just an entity. An evil one, at that. Now go, for your own safety."

*moon heeds corvette's warning and teleports away. within a second, shes gone. as Corvette turns to look at the door, the creature stands there, staring. its eyes are a dark red, like the color of blood. Corvette steps back out of fear, before running away as fast as possible. the figure runs too, extremely fast. within moments, he catches up to Corvette, who's out of breath.*

"I g-give up. Just don't make m-me hurt any more people p-please."

*the creature doesn't speak, instead it walks through Corvette as a ghost would and suddenly, corvette's eyes turn red and he stands up straight. He's been possessed.*

*the footage goes black and shows a clip from a news show.*

"8 people have gone missing today in the wake of The Corvettefan Show."

*the footage opens to Corvette standing on the stage as usual. the uncle sam poster is no longer there, and corvette seems to be back to normal.*

"Hello people of KT! Nice to see you all again!"

"Okay, so you may know I kinda got eaten a couple days ago. By a living uncle sam poster. Strange, I know. Elo has refused to comment on the situation. And Mike saved me, thanks Mike! Everything's fine now though, the poster has been incinerated so it can't eat any more people."

"And today's another interview episode! We're interviewing someone who's been enthusiastically asking for an interview since a couple episodes ago."

"Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Moon!"

*moon walks on stage, waving at the audience*

*moon and Corvette sit down*

"So moon, what made you want to appear on the show this afternoon?"

"Well, I've been watching all the Corvettefan Show episodes since the first one, and I thought it would be nice to come on here and be interviewed!"

"I see, looks like you're a fan of the show, huh? Nice."

"Yeah, I guess you could put it that way."

"Let's talk about the hunger games. You and Cheri (marshall) were arguably the most active people in the hunger games. How do you feel about the ending, and the Spanish arc and all that?"

"Well, it wasn't a very dramatic ending, but it could've gone worse. And the spanish arc was pretty funny as well!"

"That ending was interesting. It wasn't really an ending, just when everyone stopped adding to the plot."

"Yeah, everyone just stopped being active."

"I wish it got more of a proper ending. Anyway, you have magic powers, huh? How does that work?"

"Well, I have lots of different magic abilities, like teleportation and lots of other stuff. And my dagger."

"Nice, those must be really useful at times. Everyone's scared of you, huh?"

"Eh, well some people are, but most people just think I'm a regular person."

"I see. You're also an unregistered user, like me. Is it a pro or a con at times?"

"Its mixed to be honest. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Why are you even asking me about this? You're an unregistered user yourself."

"Just curious. Anyway you're quite a good writer yourself, I remember when you gave me tips on how to improve my story I wrote a while ago. Any writing tips for the audience?"

"My best tip would be to try to be as detailed and descriptive as possible without repeating the same thing over and over again. Repetition never sounds good."

"I see, I see. Now that's a good tip. Description is great, and without it everything seems empty. Every story needs a little description, you know?"

"Yeah."

"Also, you seem to be a fan of the moon, I've noticed. Have you ever played Neal.fun Sun vs Moon? Fantastic game."

"Uh, I haven't but I'll give it a try whenever I have the chance."

"Alright." *Corvette stands up* "Anyway, as the interview comes to a close, I have something for you."

*moon stands up as well* "And what might that be?"

*suddenly the curtain behind them opens up, revealing a 1920s car.*

"A 1923 Moon Model 6-40 Touring Car! I bought this for you, because on the Corvettefan Show I give away things. And the car bears your name as well."

*moon looks excited but disappointed at the same time* "Isn't this... a little old?"

"Sure, its old, but its nice isn't it? And Moon Motor Cars went bankrupt in 1930, so there isn't really anything newer."

"Uh...ok...where are the keys?"

"It doesn't have keys."

"Wow...so how do I start it?"

"You just gotta crank the thing in the front and it should start up. Be careful when you're doing it though, those things are dangerous."

"Uh...okay...Its pretty nice I guess..."

"It also fits 5 people, so that's a pro. Do you even know how to drive?"

"Uh...no..."

"You should've said that in the first place. Just take this." *Corvette gives moon a small scale model of the 1923 Moon Model 6-40 Touring Car.*

"What do you think? Small car?"

"Thanks I guess..."

*corvette looks at the camera* "Well folks, guess whoever in the audience wants the car can have it."

*someone raises their hand* "Okay, whoever just raised their hand can meet me backstage, the car is yours."

*Anyway, that seems to be the end of the episode, everyon-" *moon interrupts Corvette*

"And Corvette, what did you do to Jimmy?"

*Corvette looks at Moon blankly* "He went on vacation. And plus, Mike is still here."

"Went on vacation? I don't think so. I saw what happened in episode 4."

"Episode 4. That rings a bell. The moon disappear- forget it, forget it."

*moon looks at Corvette menacingly* "What was that?"

*Corvette looks straight at Moon, his expression emotionless* "The moon is gone. It hasn't been here for the past week or so. It's driving me crazy, where did it go? Your name's moon, might you have any connection to this?"

"I...don't...have any connection to that. The moon disappeared? What? I've never seen it."

"Every night, the moon isn't there. It hasn't been there. Who took it?"

*moon is starting to become confused, while corvette steadily gets more empty looking*

"Who took it? What are you talking about?"

"Since Jimmy was gone..."

"You did it. You killed Jimmy."

"I didn't. I didn't kill him. I don't remember, it wasn't me." *Corvette looks far off into the distance, into a window offscreen. the camera pans to the window, a dark figure can be seen standing there. Corvette runs backstage*

"He found me. He's here again."

*moon stands there, starting to get worried. what's wrong with Corvette? she goes backstage and talks to him*

"Corvette. Whats happening? What's going on? Who's that person outside?"

"Just go. Run. Its not gonna end well, just leave."

"I need to know! What is it?!"

"Ok, well. Long story short. That guy...

"killed Jimmy."
