Guys I think I just entirely killed my iPod tryna fix it

So its battery was completely dead, like it couldnt hold enough of a charge to be able to turn on when plugged in.

And then, I decided to replace the battery. I soldered the tiny wires, and it worked! Well, sort of.

It would turn on, but all it had to offer was a blank, white screen.

I tried to restore it through my mac but I’m pretty sure new macs arent all that compatible with ipods, and yeah it didnt work

I tried every single thing I could think of. I didn’t know what inside of the ipod to replace besides the screen, which I thought I would do later as a last resort. I decided I’d stick to trying to reset it entirely, since it may have been a software bug.

Okay, imma tell u rn that it didn’t work. I tried as much as I could think of, I couldn’t think of anything else to do, and then I started doing all the same stuff all over again. But then, an error message! And the ipod wasnt showing up in finder anymore AND wouldnt turn on!

So yeah

Maybe it’s still fixable? Idk tho

I rlly shouldnt have let it sit around in my garage to die for a couple years. It already wasnt in the best shape; I couldnt unplug it or else it would die immediately.

But yeah :(

I officially hate white screens of death an absurd amount now.

I might go try to fix my dad’s up. It actually is in a lot better condition. It looks a lot cooler too, as it’s a classic (5th gen perhaps? i gotta check) and mine was an ipod nano 6th gen, which just looks like a big chunky apple watch without the straps.

Speaking of apple watches, I haven’t charged mine up since the summer… I might need to replace its battery now too lol. Idk if it’s possible tho. Or if I even want to. I don’t really care all that much about tracking my steps and stuff, I just walk until I get sore if I want to get stronger.

I looked at my watch my foot tapping nervously, it was some internet rando you actually thought there was another person like you?! I breathed in and out then thump, thump? huh? I looked behin dme then turned forwards "AAHHHHH!!!!!" I jumped back my back hitting the lamp pole "ow ow ow!!!!" "that was just too easy" she was there RIGHT THERE!!! told you she'd come my inner dialogue bordered on insanity but I was freaking out, thank god I wasn't hyperventilating, "why'd you sneak up on me like that!" I whined "cause it was funny, I'm Alissandra, we met online" right, I almost forgot. "Yeah I'm Arianna, so you also-" "yep, whats yours?" "I uh" I turned away and said "Marco" then the telltale ROOF ROOF as my robot dog whizzed over "POLO" it said, she laughed "nice, so your like super smart?" I grinned, SHE WILL BE SO IMPRESSED "I memorized all of shakespeare on one weekend" she laughed...
