Weekly Life w/ Colt - Week 1

Heyy Guys! This is my first post in my blog, and wow—what a week it’s been. It was super busy, like nonstop from start to finish. School definitely kept me on my toes. Algebra was not it this week, and Spanish wasn’t much better, lol. But hey, there was one big win—I got a 100% on my English assignment!

Let’s be real though, my English teacher is a total D1 teacher. She’s seriously the best. I’ve gotten 100% on every single assignment so far, not one below that. She just gets it, and honestly, English has been the one class that’s actually been fun lately.

Outside of school, training was a huge part of my week. I had Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu sessions, and both were awesome. In Muay Thai, we worked on kicks and punches—basically learning more ways to break someone’s nose, lol. Then in Jiu-Jitsu, it’s “Choke Month,” which means we’re focusing on all kinds of chokes. Ezekiel, triangle, and rear-naked choke are just a few examples, but this week was all about triangle chokes. I love that move. The person I train with, John, is always fun to strangle (in the best way possible, of course).

On top of all that, I’ve been putting in a lot of miles on the local trail since my marathon is coming up this October. I actually ran 10 miles this afternoon and kept a 10-minute pace the whole way. It felt great to hit that distance and know I’m getting closer to race day.

So yeah, between school, training, and running, this week was packed.

Video starts and a girl with a scar going from above her left eyebrow to under her right and medium-length black hair with red tips wearing a heart-eyed skull hoodie and jeans is standing in front of a light purple wall. Closer to the camera, there is a cluttered desk the camera appears to be setting on.

Emily- Hello people and any dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and/or birds that may be watching! I am Emily and the one hiding under the desk about to jump out is-

What do you think of when you hear a jingle of bells? You know, those glorious things where there's a ball inside of a ball inside of a ball that creates this beautiful sound when you simply just shake it? Do you think of Christmas, of which my English father loves? Do you think of just a simple bell, golden and shining in the broad daylight? I think of a sign of happiness, as my Indian mother and I dance to traditional music, with our bells of jewelry and of my love, jingling along. I think of sign of opportunity, as my bangles jingle with excitement, as I approach London's Big Ben. I simply just think of my golden and glistening bangles and bells, jingling, ringing, and making a magical sound as I simply, just simply, shake it.

Borrowed Chapter 1

"Ivy!" shrieked her mother in outrage, suspending the silver house key over her face. The gleaming keyring dangled over her light brown eyes, reflecting in her stricken face.

What had she done? Of course, Ivy didn't know that the innocent, childish act of playing with a key was considered an offense worthy of punishment by her mother. But, it was, and so, Ivy had to pay for her crime...

Exactly what was the crime? What was so immoral about playing with a key?

That was years ago, ages of shimmering and fading memories. Ivy was not as young and childish as she had been, now not as foolish. She vividly remembered where the silver key was stashed away, out of her groping hands. There was a small, wooden cabinet hidden in her mother's bathroom, and, all those years ago, she saw her mother throw the key in there to gather dust, and then she locked it with a heavy, golden lock.

"Listen to me, Ivy," she had said grimly, "if your hot little hands touch this lock, in two minutes I'll know."

And those words had stuck with her, petrified in her mind. Fear coursed through her every time she would approach it, fear that she would touch it and her mother would race to the spot, her angry eyes fixed on her with loathing...muttering the life-long threat...

It had had happened once. Ivy, about ten years old, about two years after the original incident, was lumping all of the laundry in the small, tiled, square bathroom together, and she accidentally brushed, a slight brush, the shining, cold lock.

Her mother, heat spewing out of her ears, muttered a variety of words Ivy hoped to never hear come from her mother in such anger again as she walked heavily down the wood hallway. Ivy, breathing harder than she ever had in her whole life, had bolted from the bathroom to across the hall, shoving her white bedroom door shut.

The next hour was torture. Her mother hammered on the door until managing to unlock it with the bedroom door key. She promised to send Ivy off to boarding school if she put her smudgy fingerprints on the key again.

And she hadn't for so many years after...but little did she know that those years wouldn't stretch much further.

Knocking interrupted her thoughts.

Ivy glanced up irritably from a book she was finishing. Legs crossed Indian-style, Ivy stared furiously across the room from her green-covered bed.

Knock, knock, knock.

Ivy straightened up, and walked angerily towards the white closet door. She grasped the knob, and wrenched it open. "Who's there?" she shouted into the dark depths.

No one answered. She slammed the door close.

"Ivy!" came her mother's furious voice,"No slamming doors!"

In her brief spout of anger, Ivy had forgotten one of her mother's most strict rules. She knew that this rule was opposed because her mother couldn't afford the rent on a house, so they lived in a rusty, no-electricity trailer on the outskirts of the woods. There were neighbors that could hear the doors slamming and suspect someone was living there.

Her mother had been an alcoholic for a while before they had been kicked out of their old house, about three years ago, when Ivy was ten. But, after she couldn't afford it, she had stopped, and saved the money she could from mowing lawns and doing yard work for food and firewood, but she had still taken that key.

Ivy slowly eased the door open and tiptoed out. As quietly as she could, she ran to the opposite side of the tiny trailer, to her mother's room.

She knocked.

"Come in," her mother, sitting on her knees, was roasting four hotdogs on a poorly made fire as she invited her daughter in wearily.

Ivy tiptoed in as her mother handed her a hotdog spiked with pink. Undercooked, likely to give her food poisoning, but Ivy didn't care. At she had something to eat.

It was dinnertime in the St. Mary Ann's Orphanage. Children were moaning about the hideous oatmeal that was being served, the pots were sizzling with white goop pouring out of the lids, and the chairs were shaking due to to the orphans' ravenous attitudes. All chairs were shaking except for one: Hope Lisa's.
"Miss Lisa, you haven't even touched your bowl of oatmeal yet! Whatever is the matter?" Sister Ann approached, with a stern, frightening appearance.
"I'm not hungry," meek Hope replied, hanging her head.
"Well it's no use for you to linger around here, is there? Go to your room!" Sister Ann yelled, looking like the Devil himself. Hope scrambled away, holding back the explosion of tears. The white goo tastes like cardboard anyway, she thought.

As Hope approached her rickety bed, brushed hair, clean nightgown, and all, she came upon a hurtful sight. The comforter was drenched in sour grape juice and a wrinkled paper was sitting on the wet pillow.

"Roses are red,
violets are blue.
Rotten eggs stink,
so do you!"

Hope read. Her crystal blue eyes welled up with tears as she sat on a wooden chair. The Sisters always scolded have admonished her with painful words while the St. Mary Ann's bullies tortured because of Hope's parents. When she was just a baby, her millionaire parents abandoned her in a dark, forbidding alley, never to be heard from again. Did my parents not love me? Was I a hurtful person in their eyes? Hope thought. And why would they call me Hope in wretched ink?
"Maybe 'cause they hoped they would get rid of you once and for all!" Hope remembered one of the bully's say. Well, I'm determined to find out. Hope fiercely wiped her streaks of tears as she threw on her winter coat and black boots. She tugged on her hat and gloves, and stuffed all of her belongings in a small, red bag. She was a mouse, blending with the dark and terrifying halls as she ran. At last, she made it to two huge grand doors with handles the size of Hope's head. Hope took out a crumpled ball of paper and unfolded it.

I was just laying in bed when mom came up and said," We need to go to the hostpital your sister is very sick, dad is going to stay." Then I sat up and said," Is she going to be okay if she is staying all week I will visit everyday, but do they have suits and masks so I don't get sick?" Mom sat down on my bed and said," Yes, they do they don't want any germs on her or us and you can visit everyday." I yawned and mom then said," You go to sleep and I will see you tomorrow, ok." I nodded and she left and I went to sleep. The next morning I rushed down the stairs and ate breakfast so I can get to the hostpital to see my sister Miriam. When I was about to leave dad yelled to me and said," Your not going alone let me take you there!" I nodded and went in the front seat of my dads SUV and went to the Childrens hostpital.

Chapter 1-

Chelsea sat at her bedroom floor staring at photos of her friend, Maggy Lin. A single tear went down her face as a flashback took place.

“LOOK OUT!
Vroom vroom vroom

“AAAAAAAHHHHHH”

Silence.

A lone figure, dead, on the street.

Many noises.

A knock at the door.

“Chelsea?”

Chelsea looked up and saw her mother, a comforting figure, standing there.

‘Chelsea, I know it’s hard, but she’s gone.”

Chelsea looked at her mother with longing eyes.

“I want to bring her back.” She whispered

“I know….” Chelsea’s mom sat next to Chelsea, “but some things you just can’t fix. You can’t rewrite time, Chelsea.”

Chelsea felt her eyes start to water.

“Mom?”

“Yes, Chelsea?”

“Can we go to her grave tomorrow?” Chelsea struggled to say grave.

“Of course.” Chelsea’s mom stood up, “Now Chelsea, no more moping. Time for dinner.”

Chelsea reluctantly stood up and dragged her feet down the stairs to dinner.

Taylor walked into the alleyway and quickly looked behind her back. She saw nothing. Good sign. Inside the alleyway, there was nothing, except 2 dumpsters. Taylor looked inside the one on her left and inside, there flapping was a note, flapping in the wind. She opened the flapping note and read.
