Chapter 5: The Jig

The voice that boomed through the entire vault and shook the entire building was painfully penetrating the ears that they were intended for.

Wayne winced, his ears being very sensitive. Both him and Adonis quickly dropped the gold out of their inventory and fell to their knees.

"What do you want from us?" Yelled Adonis, not sure who or what he was yelling at. "For you to be out of my hair," replied the strong voice. Adonis scrunched up his face in confusion, recognizing the voice at the last syllable made. "Igor? The bald illager that runs the Badlands? What hair do we need to be out of, 'cause it sure isn't yours!" He laughed, making Wayne giggle as well. "This is the exact reason why—NEVERMIND! You and your little coup de tau' will regroup and be led to my quarters, where your fate will be decided at once. And I and NOT bald!" Igor added angrily.

Adonis scoffed in humour, and got off the floor. He wiped off the knees of his pants and went over to help Wayne up. "Wow boss! Only you can sit there and joke around with someone like that!" Wayne said, looking up at Adonis. "Thanks, Wayne..." They looked at each other's eyes for a while. Then Adonis blurted, "Let's find the others. The jig seems to be up now." He gave Wayne his hand and attempted to pull him up, but when Wayne pulled up Adonis fell right down. "Are you okay?" Asked Wayne concernedly. "..I'm aight.." He grunted back.

Just then, pillagers stormed in along with their savage ravagers, aiming their bows straight at the heads of them both. Adonis and Wayne's hands shot up to mean no harm, but one of there hands stayed together, even when transported to the air. Yes. They were holding hands.

Adonis quickly shook Wayne's hand off of his and declared, "You don't need to point those things at us. We're not here to hurt you guys."

The pillagers looked offended. "We're not afraid of you juveniles! You deserve to be punished more than you have!" One of them spat.

The others marched to them and put their hands behind their backs forcefully, tying what seemed to be hexed string around them. Adonis could feel a crossbow being aimed at the back of his head, a cage ready to release it's killer animal if necessary.

"Let's move!" Called someone who looked like the Commander Chief. The pillagers and their prisoners trotted along the path to the President's quarters. As they moved along, Adonis started to worry about the others. They couldn't afford to be separated. He looked back towards Wayne, who had a blank look on his face, staring at the abyss once more. Adonis knew that Wayne was trying to hide his fear, but he couldn't fool Adonis.

Once they were at the quarters of Igor, the twin were led inside by the violent pillagers. They went up 4 flights of stairs, Wayne having to bend over a bit to fit inside the doors. Adonis could finally see the others, also tied by the hands and with a crossbow at their necks.

But he could also see Igor giving him the most malicious death stare anyone could withstand. "So, the gang is all here, eh?" He said in his, now, not so loud but very rough voice.

I just missed it, but as of May 11th, I've been here for five years. Honestly, that marks my five-year anniversary of using the internet since KS was one of the first sites I managed to stumble upon. I've seen a lot of people come and go so far, and hopefully I'll be around to see my 50th one day.

Luna, Knight, and Gemmy, led by Otaktay, walked to the Alpha of the foreign pack. The Alpha was a grey and brown mixed wolf, with cruel yellow eyes.

Just as they approached, a female wolf ran out of the bushes to the grass around were the Alpha sat. The female wolf seemed panicked and out-of-breath, Luna guessed she was the Omega, the lowest-ranking member of the pack. The Alpha growled slightly at the Omega, the Omega avoided looking the Alpha in the eyes, and instead stared at the ground in shame.

As they got a little closer, Luna noticed the pile of rabbits sitting nearby the Alpha. "Hey! Those are our's!" Knight said, also seeing the rabbits. The Alpha started towards them, slowly and steadily, trying to intimidate Luna and her friends, and unfortunately to Luna, succeeding. "Oh really? Because I believe they were caught in my territory by a small, stupid little mixed pack of 2 wolves and a fox, who happened to stumble upon another pack's territory, hunt their food, drink from their water source, and sleep in their territory too, all without permission. All we did was take a few rabbits, we have the right to be angry, not you." The Alpha said, manipulating the thoughts of the pack.

The Omega, who had stayed right behind the Alpha, tripped over a rock and fell into the Alpha by accident. In doing so, her front right paw smashed onto the rock in an unnatural way of bending, and the Omega gave a loud yelp.

The Alpha quickly turned towards the Omega, growling, fuming mad at the Omega, of whom tried to back away without putting up any strain on her paw, which was now bleeding rapidly. "I TOLD YOU, YOU FILTHY LITTLE OMEGA, ONE MORE MESS UP AND I'D-" The Alpha started but was unable to finish, for a long noise followed by a narrow piece of silver that had pierced the Alpha's chest, the Alpha yelped and came down crashing. Some wolves ran, some got as many wolf pups as possible and took them away (minus Luna and Knight), and some stayed behind and growled at the beings that emerged from the bushes, carrying camoflauge guns pointed at different wolves, and a couple wolves stayed to help the Alpha. No one went to help the wounded Omega, except for Luna.

"Hey, I am Luna, come on, let's get you outta here, I will help you with your paw," Luna said to the Omega. "T-thank you, m-my name is A-Ammy, why are y-you helping m-m-me?" The Omega said, as Luna helped her with her paw and they started to run and get out of there and catch up to Gemmy and Knight. "No one deserves to be left behind like that," Luna said

Nora was completely beaming, she had recieved a gift from River. A unicorn hair sketchbook! She had also now knew that River was an artist. "Yay one more thing we have in common!" Nora had thought. "Hey! Nora! Over here!" "Huh?" Nora said turning around. It was River. "Wanna visit our ranch after school? It's only a few blocks out of town..You could see our unicorns!" Asked River. "Sure why not! I'd never seen a unicorn...only when my lil' sister acts like one." Answered Nora. "Ok well I'm off to lunch. Bye!" Exclaimed River.

Nora waved goodbye and swiftly walked to the lunch cafeteria.

"Oh look! Miss dead soul!" said Amber Hano. The most POPULAR girl in the world. Every envies her. Her looks, her money, and her clothing. She made all the boys fall for her. Amber hano has more than 20 enemies...

Nora ignored her and continued walking towards the cafeteria line.

"Aren't you going to answer? Or are you too scared?!"

"No, I'm not scared, but you should be." Nora said clenching fists.

"Me? Scared? Oh please." Amber said laughing.

Nora started walking towards her, with her fists still clenched. I'll show her. Thought Nora.

"Aw, she's gonna try do someth-" Said Amber.

"YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Nora exclaimed while slapping her.

Amber's face was vivid. She was not expecting her to slap her so hard.

"WHAA!!" Amber said walking away.

"NORA HANATAKA! PLEASE REPORT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE THIS VERY MINUTE" Said a speaker.

I guess I won't be going to the ranch today.... Thought Nora.

"Nora Hanataka." "You are going to be going to detention today until 7:00 PM today. Cuz you have physically assualted someone." Said Principal Leke

"I know I know..." Answered Nora.

"You may now leave." Said the principal.

"Aboutt thaaatt...I wont be able to, I have detention until 7:00 PM today..." "But what about tommorow?" said Nora.

"Sure, but why are you detention?" Asked River.

"Oh well uhm, I slapped Amber. She got on my last nerves..." Nora told.

"Ohhhh, yeah i get it. Anyway see ya tommorow!" Exclaimed River

"Bye!!" Waved Nora

Luna ran this line over and over in her mind at supper that night. There was something off about Agro that her mom could not see. Luna did not speak to him. Instead she remembered many memories of her and her father. The last thing he said to her was "I will be back, I love you, Luna." She at the time thought it was weird because often he left without saying so but that time he woke Luna up in the middle of the night to tell her. Would he know what had been soon to come? Was it suicide? Murder? Everyone loved Luna's dad. He was nice and kind to everyone. He once left a rabbit thats mother rabbit had just been run over. Most wolves would not have a second thoughtabout killing it. But he let it go. He was special. He was hers. He is gone.

Luna went to bed early that night. In her dream she figured out what she wanted to do in the pack (she was of age to choose). She wanted to be a hunter like her dad. But not hunting for food, hunting for her fathers murderer.

Richard said to Joey and Silvia "pull on the halyard rope so we can raise the square sail so we can get moving!". Silvia said "ok, SIR." Joey said in his mind "man, the first time they saw each other in probably 2 weeks and they're already kind of arguing". "hey, you never told me your last name, what is it?" said Richard. "oh, it's Callahan" said Joey. "WHAT????? MY LAST NAME IS CALLAHAN!!!!!!!!!said Richard. "Hmmm, well my uncle's name is Richard Callahan" said Joey. "Maybe your my uncle" said Joey, "I guess so!" said Richard. Then they both started hugging.....Joey wondered in his mind if he wasn't his uncle. Then Silvia said "ok, enough hugging and more steering the ship!!!! Hurry up slow poke there's a huge rock about to hit us!!!! "OK OK OK OK!!! I Will!!! said Richard. By the time he got to the steering oar the rock was 30 feet from the front of the longship! He turned the steering oar and they just past the big rock. Now it is night, and Joey layed down on the seat to paddle the oars. And Joey looked up to the stars and hoped that he'd find his family.

The next morning was a sad day because we needed to go to my Miriam's funeral. The next couple of hours was hard on me, because Miriam was my only sibling, now my mom said she would try to have another kid, but that doesn't matter anymore I just wanted Miriam. When we got home I ran to my room not even thinking about eating lunch.

The car ride took FOREVER! It was unbelievable. I though we were moving into a bigger house, not a bigger state! "Mom, when are we going to get there?" I hesitated. "Mom?" The only response I got was a snore.

"She's sleeping, honey. And we're almost there. Few more miles to go," said my dad. I rolled my eyes. Anabelle's phone died, so now she's reading some brailled book. The title's brailled, too, so I don't know what it's called.

We're rolling up into a HUGE neighborhood now. It's got mantions. But not to mention the spiral staircases, horse carriages, and palaces in the distance. It was really pretty.

Wait, what was I talking about again? I went from describing the neighborhood we passed through to describing what was happening in the Cinderella movie on my tablet. I'm very tired. Maybe I should take a nap....

It's eight-thirty now. We just got into the new house, and now we're picking out the bedrooms we want. I chose one on the top floor, so that I can walk down 2 flights of stairs every morning to wake me up better.

I know I'll regret it later, but it's kind of hard to think about anything like this right now, because I'm exhausted. We all are. I would write more in this diary, but there's been literally NOTHING else other than riding in the car for hours on end. This paragraph is getting too long and I'm falling asleep right now so BYE!!

Chapter five: The California Border

He pulled away nervously, wide eyed. Looked down for a second. Then he jumped out of the stall and I heard his boots clack against the floor. There's something me and my ma have in common. I unlocked the stall and scurried after him. I heard a machine buzz as I entered Rowan's room. "Hey, Bucky, why'd ya leave? What're ya scared of me?" I asked playfully. Doctors rushed in and pushed me, Bucky, and Rowan's parents and brother out into the hallway. "She's flatlining," I heard a doctor cry in distress. My face went pale. I had completely forgotten the incident in the bathroom...until the next day.

"The California border," Mr. Savage said. "A place so shaky that if you built your house there, it could be split in two when a hurricane came along," I glanced back at Bucky. Turns out he'd already been staring at me in the first place. Rowan walked in dizzily, and Cory rushed in behind her to help her into her seat. "You okay?" I asked. "Yes. Hi, Peyton." she replied. He peered at her. Then at me. "Uh...hi Rowan," he answered uncertainly. It was pretty clear that he was deciding between me and her. But I didn't want to interfere...oh wait, it IS my business. "Honey," I said. "Bri, what are you doing?" he asked. "telling her the truth. She deserves to hear it." she threw a nervous glance in my direction. "Bri? Wh-what are you talking about? The--truth...I th-thought I knew it--" she cut off. "--all," she hesitated to finish. "Looks like her medication for her ankle hasn't quite worn off yet," sighed Mr. Savage. I nodded. "You...do," Huckleberry lied. "You're lying Peyton. I can see it in your eyes," Rowan observed. "Humph," I scoffed. I looked at him. He looked at me. "You two. Hallway. Now..." Rowan said, standing up. "I'll come to!" said Cory, a little TOO enthusiastically. "Uhm..for stability," he rushed out the door behind her. I nodded at Bucky and we went with them. "What happens now?" he asks as we leave. I shrug.

CHAPTER FIVE:

VIRGINIE

It's very lonely in this hotel room. I'm thinking about calling that girl, um, what's her name? Uhhh...Danpora? No. No, no, no, Virginie. I grabbed the piece of paper with the girl's phone number. Her name was squabbled above it. But, unfortunately, I could barely make out the letters. "P-A-N," I struggled. "Is that a...oh well...D-O-R," the last letter was small and I 'accidentally' left my glasses in Paris. so I had to squint. "A," I read, finally. "P-A-N-D-O-R-A...Pandora!" I dialed the number and waited. "Hello?" a muffled voice rang out. "Oh, hi. Is this Pandora?" I asked anxiously. "Nope. I'm Devin. What's yours?" I suddenly heard barking and rustling in the background. "Um, hello?" I asked. "Hellooooo," called a more feminine voice through the phone. "Oh, hi uh, um, er...." "Pandora," she replied. Oh great! First American person I meet and I'm already forgetting her name! "Pssh, yeah. Pandora. I knew that..." "No, no. I get it; 'Pandora' isn't a very common name in Paris," "You're so right," I blurted. I smacked my palm over my mouth in embarrassment. "Ha. It's okay. 'Virginie' isn't a common name where I come from, either." I giggled. "So um, why was your brother Devin on the phone?" I asked, curiously. "Oh, him? He just wants to annoy me. And he calls me Panda because my name isn't common," she replied. "Hmm, Pandora. I like it. It has that, smooth sound to it." I replied, acting all expert-y and cheesy. She laughed. "Sure. But, yeah. He has something going on in his weirdo brain that not even I can diagnose. It's not medically serious or anything! I'm just teasing, so you know." she added quickly. "Yeah. I know how that can be. I'm here for two weeks on a mission trip with my mother, mainly because my aunt had to stay at home in Paris because my father is sick." A single tear rolled down my face. "Oh," said Pandora. "How about I call you back later, so you can unpack a bit." she suggested. "Sh-sure," I answered as I hung up. I bursted into tears as soon as I pressed that button. I REALLY missed my father. As I said at the airport, a few chapters ago, THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG TWO WEEKS.
