1) men only support women- well, mostly, but they also showcase strength and movement

2)they are called male ballerinas- they are actually called ballerios, or dausers.

3)it's new to have men in ballet-the first ballet performers were men

4)they always wear tights- they mostly only wear tights when they are under the age of 15 and for shows

1) ballet is not a team sport- no a dancer needs friends and a team to be successful.

2)they are vegan- if us dancers didn't eat meat, we would die!

3)dancers have to be super bendy- I am not flexible at all, but I'm still a great dancer.

4) dancers live in toe shoes- it depends on the ballet that you are doing, or the role you are playing.

1) it's mushy and easy. No. in fact, it's the hardest sport, because it uses all your muscles.

2) Only girls do ballet. no! ballet would not exist without boys! some of the most famous people known to dancers are men.

3) you have to start when you're in pre-school. No. I started when I was 6 and some people don't start until they are 13!

So, I’m a ballet dancer. I’m en pointe, and have been in several productions (4 to be exact). It seems like I’m the only one on here who does ballet (if I’m wrong please comment), so here are some myths about pointe:

1. It’s easy.          NOPE!!!!! You have to be super strong in order to pass the test, and even when you’re breaking in the pointe shoes it hurts.

2. Pointe shoes have a block of wood in the toe.           Again, no. People argue, ‘Then how do you balance?’ It’s called using your core. It’s the same as balancing on one foot on your tiptoes, just harder because you are literally ON YOUR TOES.

3. Men can’t dance en pointe.                This isn’t true. There are many men who dance en pointe, you just don’t see them in productions. My dance teacher (a male) has danced en pointe before.

That’s all for now! Also, I posted this in this category because ballet is an art, not a sport.
