Hello my Peoples ! I'm hosting this contest to stir up some fun ! Cause things have been slow around here .But anyway onto the Contest !

In this Contest we will start with a General Writing Contest where you can write about anything at all ! Once I get at LEAST Eight entries we will move on to the next round. Hey guys! I’m making a short story contest.

Topic: Fantasy/Adventure

Rules: Nothing too gory, no mature themes, no cussing, and basically follow the KS rules.

Due date: December 20^th, 2019, although I may start judging earlier, depending on how many entries I get.

What to do: 1. Write a short story, usually 1-3 pages long. It must all fit in one post.

2. Post it on KidzTalk using the #artistgirl tag, and put the link in the comments of this post. If on KN, also use the hashtag.

3. Cross your fingers and hope to win!

Prizes: First place: a writing request, an art request, and a shout out in my KN bio.

Second place: a shout out in my bio and an art or writing request.

Third place: a shout out in my bio.

Hi guys! For a while, I have been waiting for entries to my short story contest! I haven't gotten very many entries though, so let me explain it to you. Anybody is welcome to enter their original short story to my contest! Just put it in writing contests with the question "AbsoluteOwl's Contest Entry". Your story can be as long or as short as you want, just make it so you can put it all in one post. I'm sorry but poems do NOT count, but I will be holding a poetry contest afterwards. There are no prizes except for bragging rights and knowing that you are an amazing author! I will be awarding a first, second, and third place along with four honorable mentions. The deadline is June 5, 2016. Your story can be any genre you want and I hope to see many different types- from fantasy to mystery, from science fiction to realistic fiction! I hope to see many different authors and genres. I will not be judging on spelling. You may only enter one time. Once we get some more entries going, I will post a daily leaderboard. Time is ticking away, so don't be shy, just enter! Good Luck!

How To Write Fiction

A lot of people are discouraged because people aren't reading their writing. Here are some tips to make it more interesting.

1: Write What You Know- I know everybody says this but it's important. If your not struck by inspiration right away, look around! Is there a girl in your class who you find mysterious? Come up with her story! Use your imagination.

2: Give Some Razzle Dazzle- When I say Razzle Dazzle, I mean make it interesting. Use adjectives, but not words like soft or cool. Use words like ethnic or delightful. See how I transform one sentence with adjectives:

The kitten slept in a bed.

The soft kitten slept in a hard bed.

The fragile kitten slept in an inadequate bed under the stairs.

3: Write- If you want to be a good writer, write all the time! Start a diary! It doesn't even have to be fiction!

4: Except Criticism- You can't please everybody. If someone suggests something, consider it! Don't give up because one person doesn't like it! Write because you like writing!
