Prince Oscar and The Portal to Elsewhere Part Five

Prince Oscar and Guide walked through the grass, swam in the pond filled with pink lotuses, and climbed a brown mountain to get to King Brennius III's castle.

"This is King Brennius III's castle", said Guide.

Cream-colored turrets capped with ocean blue cone-shaped roofs almost brushed the clouds while the orange flags on top of them danced with the wind. A black double door with silver knockers was adorned with rubies the size of buttons. Creatures with gray fur, red manes, green eyes, yellow wings, and black horns called Chormators stood guard wearing bronze helmets and carrying bronze spears.

"Dort berries", said Guide.

"Correct. You may enter.," said Chormator guard.

Guide opened the doors for Prince Oscar and then went inside, closing the door.

"Greetings! I am King Brennius III and you are?," said King Brennius III.

"Call me Guide and that is Prince Oscar.," said Guide.

"Ah. Well, a little tip for you Prince Oscar: Always make sure you know what is going on in your kingdom. Which reminds me: how did you get here, Prince Oscar?," said King Brennius III. He flapped his dark blue wings and adjusted his golden crown adorned with diamonds and emeralds.

"Guide has brought me here from The Other Realm, my realm, because he told me everything that was going on and I told him that I wanted to stop the war before it starts.," said Prince Oscar.

"I like your idea. What are the guffers thinking, starting a war against The Other Realm after stealing cows and food from there? But, we must make sure the citizens agree.," said King Brennius III.

"But how shall we do that?," said Prince Oscar. u

"We shall make a speech!," said King Brennius III.

"You know, I've always dreamed of writing a speech instead of learning how to write them like in school, and now my dream will come true thanks to you!," said Prince Oscar.

"Well then, let us get started!," said King Brennius III.

Prince Oscar and the Portal To Elsewhere Part Six

After Prince Oscar finished helping King Brennius III write a speech, King Brennius III preformed it.

"Guffers and wumbles! Arnervins and tormins! Obbers, frolks, and chormators! I am here today to talk about a soon coming war. Now, you might already know this, but, the guffers are stealing cows and food from The Other Realm as revenge to the humans because they have lost belief in us! But, after that, they and other creatures of this here Elsewhere will fight in a war against the humans! If we win, the guffers will own the forest in The Other Realm as their new breeding ground and the humans will believe in us for eternity. But if we lose, the guffers will give 20 pounds of Dort berries to the humans. Now, I know they say revenge is a dish best served cold (which means that revenge will work best if it is rude), but we do not want to start a war! The ferns will become flattened, the trees will be chopped, the food will run out and the pond will run dry. Another saying about revenge is that it is sweet. War is certainly not sweet. Also, we will lose many citizens in the process of a war. Finally, why have war when you can resolve conflicts peacefully? If conflicts are resolved peacefully, there will be no deaths or food shortages. Finally, Benjamin Franklin once said: "There was never a good war and there was never a bad peace.," said King Brennius III.

There was much applause followed by this.

So, the guffers had a change of plans. They would make a portal at the statue of King Vincent and put up a sign there that said: "Portal to Elsewhere".

After they did that, many people started visting Elsewhere and believed in it again.

Prince Oscar and the Portal to Elsewhere Part Four

"Welcome to Elsewhere!," said Guide.

White oaks as tall as giants stretched up to the sky, seemingly touching it. Bushes with small turquoise berries called Dort berries were sitting on the ground. Ferns the lengths of wiener dogs crouched, trying to touch the ground, a goal that would never be reached without human help. Snakelike vines hugged the white oaks. Soft grass blanketed the fertile soil underneath and the air smelled fresher than a drink of water after a long, hot day.

Miniscule green creatures with long white tails and no visible ears called Wumbles scurried across the ground as intelligent large red birds with talons the size of a man's fist and tails as black as tar called Arnervins flew above them. Periwinkle creatures with stub tails called Obbers ate daisies and dandelions. Yellow songbirds with white bellies and dark blue beaks and legs called Tormins sang songs as clear and pretty as the sky and a purple creature with two orange horns and hooves of the same color called a Frolk ate grass.

"Wow.," said Prince Oscar. "Now, there is one rule you must always remember: always avoid the Chormators.," said Guide.

"What are Chormators?," said Prince Oscar.

"The bullies of Elsewhere. They have red manes and black horns. Their eyes are green and the rest of their fur is gray with black spots. They have yellow wings and sharp teeth. They run very quickly and eat all animals. We find them extremely rude.," said Guide.

"I want to convince all of the creatures in Elsewhere to cancel the war by taking people here.," said Prince Oscar.

"So they can believe in us again?," said Guide.

"Yes.," said Prince Oscar.

"But first we must get the approval of King Brennius III.," said Guide.

"What kind of creature is he?," said Prince Oscar.

"He is a special kind of creature called a Rendico. All Rendicos are royalty. They have orange fur and dark blue wings.," said Guide.

"Let's go!," said Prince Oscar.

Prince Oscar sniffed the smell of guffers (small black creatures with one red eye and one purple eye), which smelled like freshly scythed grass and petrichor while in Lawmaking class.

"Do you smell that?," said Prince Oscar to his friend Prince Zachary.

"Yes.," said Prince Zachary.

"You're smelling guffers! See, I told you guffers are stealing the cows and food!," said Prince Oscar.

"That's impossible! That smell is from the school gardener working in the rain!," said Prince Zachary.

"Boys! Listen up! Now, you all learned lawmaking techniques and sensibility, two elements essential to making laws, for the past years. But as we move into this new unit, we will be working on creating your own laws. Your laws must be sensible and legible. But first, we will look at different law codes used in the history of our kingdom. The first law code used in our kingdom's history will be looking at today is Xavier's Code, which was written by which of our kings?," said Professor Pollock.

Prince Oscar raised his hand.

"Yes, Oscar?," said Professor Pollock.

"I smell a guffer.," said Prince Oscar.

There was much giggling to this response.

"Guffers are fictional! To the principal's office for creating such an unnecessary distraction!," said Professor Pollock.

"Principal Ernswire, I came to see you for causing a distraction in class.," said Prince Oscar.

"And what was that distraction?," said Principal Ernswire.

"I said I smelled a guffer.," said Prince Oscar.

"Oh no. The kingdom wide food shortage must be giving you hallucinations! I will take you to the school counselor.," said Principal Ernswire.

"But I really did smell the smell of a guffer, Mr. Torrins!," said Prince Oscar. Mr. Torrins was the school counselor at King Elmer's Academy for Princes.

"The smell of guffers occurs in nature....you are probably smelling today's wet grass.," said Mr. Torrins.

"Oh. Well, all right then. I'm all fine now. Goodbye, sir.," said Prince Oscar. He left.

Prince Oscar and the Portal to Elsewhere Part Three

When Prince Oscar returned home that day, he saw a small black creature with one red eye and one purple eye!

"A guffer! I knew they were stealing our food and cows!," said Prince Oscar.

"You are correct. See, not a soul believes in us or any other Elsewhere creature anymore. So, we decided to get revenge by stealing your food and cows. But that is just the warmup. When we have decided we have brought enough cows and food from The Other Realm (which is your realm), we and all of the other creatures from Elsewhere will start a war between you. If you win the war, we have made an agreement on giving you twenty pounds of Dort berries and never leaving Elsewhere via The Portal Tree again. But if we win the war, we have decided to your forest our new breeding ground and you will have no choice but to believe in us until the end of time! Mwah ha ha ha!," said the guffer.

"What is your name?," said Prince Oscar.

"Guffers do not have names. They are each assigned a unique sign that represent them. My sign looks like this.," said the guffer. He drew a cross inside of a circle inside of a square.

"So what should I call you?," said Prince Oscar.

"Call me Guide because I will be your guide.," said Guide.

"Okay. So, Guide, how do I get to Elsewhere?," said Prince Oscar.

"Just hop into this light green portal.," said Guide.

Prince Oscar and Guide hopped into the portal and were transported to Elsewhere.

The afternoon sun was blazing in the clear turquoise sky when Prince Oscar was indoors in King Elmer's Academy for Princes taking his Male Ettiquite exam.

"I wish we could be outside like the knight boys who go to Sir Samuel's Academy for Sons of Knights.," said Prince Oscar's friend Zachary.

"But we princes must go here according to the law.," said Prince Oscar.

"Time up! Please bring your papers to me!," said Professor Smith-Johnson.

All of the students brought their papers to him.

Then, a trumpet sounded. This courageous call meant no other than the arrival of town caller Cornelius Cornith.

"Hear ye, hear ye! The crops are running low and the cows are going missing! This may be a chain theft! By order of King Vincent, all the villagers, knights, sons of knights, merchants, jesters, princes and princesses must take all of their belongings to Saint Bertram Bugleus Shelter!," said Cornelius Cornith.

"You know what Zach? I do not think this is a chain theft. I think the items were taken by guffers from Elsewhere.," said Prince Oscar.

"You mean those small, sneaky, black furred creatures with one red eye and one purple eye with no tails who steal stuff from the Tales of Elsewhere? No way!," said Prince Zachary.

"Ever since I was a little kid I knew there was something else out there and when I heard the Tales of Elsewhere I knew where I had gone right!," said Prince Oscar.

"I bet your dad King Vincent will prove you wrong!," said Prince Zachary.

"Oh, we'll see about that!," said Prince Oscar with a taste as mischievous as a leprechaun in his voice.
