K-POP ALBUM REVIEWS Ep7 - I've Ive (April 10, 2023)

Blue Blood- It has more of a marching band feel. The beat is very addictive, 9.5/10!

I Am- Ive's most viewed music video! It's very good, and the beat is interesting. The atmosphere perfectly fits the music video. Hand-in-hand, I say, hand-in-hand! 9/10.

Kitsch- Electro-y! It's very good. Not much to say about this song, except that I like the bridge. 8.5/10.

Lips- This used to be my favourite song, not just on the album, but every song ever. And I can see why. It just gets me. It gives... A roadtrip in Arizona/Nevada/New Mexico just before sunset. 9/10.

Heroine- This song is very catchy. And the chorus is ALMOST trap, but not trap. I give it a 8.5/10.

Mine- A ballad, the first of the album. I really like the atmosphere. It's almost pop rock because of the prominent guitar in the chorus, but not pop rock. The atmosphere is... underwater at night or a lonely, dark, rainy day lying on your bed. That might not be very accurate, but it's my description. 10/10!!!

섬찟/Hypnosis- A very electro-y song! I love the vocals and the rap at the end of the song! 10/10.

Not Your Girl- A very fun song. It sounds a bit like a summer song. For some reason, I've always thought the chorus choreography for "The Feels" by TWICE goes really well this song's chorus. And I can play the whole song from the start of last chorus to the very end on the recorder! 9/10.

궁금해/Next Page- I want to preface this by saying the direct translation of 궁금해 is "curious", not "next page". Now to the song! Its beat it good. The post-chorus' atmosphere is really good, and for that I'll give this song a 9.5/10.

Cherish- A pretty electro-y song. I like the bass! 9/10.

Shine With Me- A ballad to close the album. Very powerful beat and a solid 9/10!

Personal thoughts- It's a good album. The first full album I listened to!

1. XOXZ.

I really like it. I'm not really sure what else to say... I guess I just like it? 8.5/10.

2. Wild Bird.

I like the second half better than the first half. The chorus is really nice and reminiscent of rock. 8/10.

3. Dear, My Feelings.

This is one of Ive's best B-sides ever, in my opinion. The instrumental and "aah"s in the postchoruses? Perfect. 9.5/10.

4. GOTCHA (Baddest Eros).

I didn't like it after the first listen, but I think it's quite good now. The beats in the chorus quickly make you move your body to the rhythm. Solid 8/10.

5. 삐빅 (beats)

This one just GOT ME on the first listen. Yujin's voice in the prechorus? A GAEUL CHORUS?!! Don't even get me started on the chime-like sound in the chorus. Oh my word, I cannot explain. 9.5/10.

6. Midnight Kiss

What I said about Dear, My Feelings? Well this song is just the MOST PERFECT CLOSING TRACK IN EXISTENCE. The atmosphere and the chorus kind of make you want to cry, but in a good way. Also, extra credit for being the longest song on the album. A 3:44 song is something this industry needs much more of nowadays. The vocals?!? So soft and soothing! And, like that wasn't enough, LIZ wrote the lyrics. Like, it could not more perfect. 10/10.
