The SASS of kotlc characters!

Has anyone noticed how as the kotlc books go on, the characters do things more that make you go "Did they really just say that?!" Like, for example, in Everblaze, chapter 58, when the councillors and Elwin and Magnate leto, Grady and Edaline, and Alden are trying to figure out what the heck happened when Sophie blacked out when she had the ability restrictor. "You're not getting anywhere near her with that," Grady warned. "The matter has already been decided," Councillor Emery said calmy. "And interfering with the Council's decisions is a treasonous offense." Grady snorted. "Not if the Council's gone crazy." Like, YES GRADY this is why you're one of my favorites! Defending Sophie is great! But also he said that to a COUNCILLOR. He basically mocked the Lost Cities whole political system! I re-read that scene over and over, and it still shocks me. Does anybody have any "Did they really just say that?!" Moments from reading kotlc? Feel free the share! Cause I wanna hear them!

My KotLC opinions (some popular, some not)

Hi! Some of you may know me but if you don’t, Hi! I’m Belle and I have a blog on here called Girl Online. I haven’t updated in long but I was recently thinking of this and thought I should update! So I welcome you humans to ✨My KotLC oPiNioNs✨. This does contain spoilers so look away if you don’t want spoilers. Also, please don’t be unkind or hateful towards either me or the author in the comments. There are certain things Shannon could have changed about inclusivity in the books but all in all they are good books and the only issue in them is the lack of LGBT+ characters. Other stuff such as disabilities have valid reasons for not existing in this universe.

So now that’s out the way, I will start on… OPINION 1!!!!! The best ship in KotLC is Chandelitz. No one can convince me otherwise. Like the Chandelier is perfect for him. Lacking in personality and overly glittery to compensate for lack of internal meaning!!!!!! Lmk ur thoughts on this below!!!!!

3. Linh and

Opinion 2! Ok, this one is just me telling you the correct ships. Imma explain them all but please remember, these are my opinions! Don’t get too mad about them.

1. SOKEEFE. Ok, self explanatory! But is it bad that I typed SOKEEFE and whenever I type it, it auto corrects to all caps. imma talk more about this ship further down in the post but this is just the correct ship so… moving on

2. Tayni! Ok, this one might mainly be cause Tams hot and me and my friends have each other characters based off of our personality’s and part of our looks (I’m like a pale skinned, brown eyed Rayni) and I was given Rayni. So I have a personal stake in this ship. But also cause they are so cute together. Like I have to stop myself awwing every time they are mentioned together. More about Rayni as a character later but Yh! That’s was ship 2.

3. Linh and Fitz. Ik I don’t really like him but he and Linh are so cute together.

4. Dexiana. Like they are so cute together and no one can tell me otherwise! Also I love the idea of Sophie’s absolute best friends getting together. They seem like they would be good together. Dex would definitely balance out Biana’s golden retriever personality but also be happy when she’s happy!! Like I can just imagine biana being so confused when Sophie felt nothing at Dex’s kiss. ?

5. Maruca and Marella. Hear me out…. They are always together and seem to really like each other platonically but we don’t know whether it’s more and they are just so cute and il them so much. Like marellas gilded hair with Marucas braids?!!!! Tell me that’s perfect

So ships are over and I’m sure they will all sail. Time for…

Opinion 3!!!!!!! Rayni would have been on the black swan if they had discovered her first. I think Rayni was only with the never seen cause she was hurt and felt that gisela was the only one who would listen. Once she realised what they were doing it was too late for her to leave and she was scared. Like she legitimately feels like no one wants her and that she only has the never seen as an option. Please lmk your thoughts on this below cause I love her so much and definitely believe all of this.

Opinion 4!!!! SOKEEFE would have ended up together in any au. In any universe CAUSE I think fitzypoo’s anger issues would have driven our sweet, innocent Sophie to keefe in tears, first for solace and then for luurveee.

Opinion 5, I dislike alden. Like don’t get me wrong, he was helpful to Sophie at the beginning but the way he seemed so certain that Fitz and Sophie were endgame, along with telling Keefe that he thought of him as a son BEFORE TELLING HIM THAT HIS LONGTERM CRUSH DIDNT LIKE HIM AND THAT HE SHOULD BE USED AS A ******** PUNCHING BAG FOR FITZ WHEN HE IS UPSET SO THAT FITZPHIE WILL HAPPEN?!!!?!?!?!!??! ASDFGHJKL;!!!!!!!! DOESNT SEEM LIKE ENDGAME TO ME OLD MAN!!!!!!!!!!!

I will try to update my blog more often and will obvi be ✨trying✨ to write some sort of KotLC clean fanfic for here. (KS, if you could pop the guidelines below so that I don’t accidentally write something not allowed, [imma teenager ok! It wouldn’t be too bad]).

BEFORE YOU READ: If you're a fan of Kotlc and are a huge stan of it, and may be offended, click off this post.

So, I was thinking about reading Keepers of the Lost City but I thought, hmm... Idk because everyone seems exactly the same: white, tall, skinny, straight, cis ''perfect" people. A few days ago, I was video calling Athena and she said when I finish Uncle Rick's books (bless that man and his BOOTIFUL creations UwU) I could read Kotlc. So I told her my complaint. I know that race and stuff is a minor aspect of books, they can be the most awesome, pinnacle of amazing books that only have white people, but as a not perfect, not super skinny, Latina girl, this is important to me. I Googled exactly this: "why is everyone in keepers of the lost city white" lol.

Anyway, I found a Fandom article about it. I was pretty shocked to see all these other reasons why they books are crazy... uhm, undiverse? No that's not a word TwT

First issue: The Song kids. They were just called "east Asian" and didn't actually specify where they were from. Their names are a random mix of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese names. If you're gonna add a character from a different culture, research it. That's what I'm doing with Skye Jeong from Wildest Dreams. (a new character who's POV is first in the forth or third chapter) She's Korean, and instead of choosing the randomest asian surnames I could think of, I googled common Korean last names. Their eyes are super light.. Blue? "Probably the lightest out of the whole series," is what the post said. Not a lot of colored people have light eyes. Not saying its impossible, but it's rare. And everyone has blue eyes. The Asian siblings act like their straight outta an anime or K-Pop group-

The sister is a stereotypical UwU Asian girl who's all KAWAAAAAAAAIIII!!!!!!!!! LIKE BREH. The brother is the cool guy with colored hair. I don't know a lot of Asians but that's just rude. One of the Asians I knew was crazy dead-pan and kinda annoying. The other was super cool and nice. Also, I didn't mention their house. It looks like a Chinese temple, which is supposedly a beach house. WHO THE LITERAL !#@$ LIVES IN A TEMPLE SOLELY BECAUSE THEY'RE ASIAAAAAAAAAAAN (no offense to the people who do)

Second issue: The gnomes??? I mean, they're basically slaves? And the worst part is, the author Shannon something or other described their skin as DIRT COLORED. And they all have blue eyes and work hard for the perfect, more beautiful elves. Without getting paid. WILLLINGLY WORKING FOR FREE. This is disturbingly similar to black people who were forced to be slaves. BRO! That struck me as incredibly racist. I heard one of the gnome girls had brown eyes and was ridiculed for it. STOP IT JUST SHOOT ME NO-

Third issue: THE FREAKING ELVES!!

All of them are perfect beings who are the most drop dead gorgeous, skinny, blonde hair and blue eyes donning perfect, perfect, perfect species. I also read that Sophie the main character has a sister, Amy and she was a little chubby, Sophie went years without seeing her and the first thing she noticed was that her sister was thin now. It's like Shannon something or other can't have a slightly heavy-set main character?? So, no "hi", no "I missed you," just "Oh. You lost weight." GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- I don't call "making poor gnomes bust their butts working for you all day without even paying them" perfect. AT ALL. So these elves are the pinnacle of beauty. These are beauty standards. I have darker skin, almost black hair and dark brown eyes. I'm not anorexically skinny. I have dry skin. I have a few moles. I have to wear glasses. Does that make me an ugly ahh girl? Imo, no, I think I'm pretty. (not trying to sound braggy I'm just confident-)

Forth issue: NO. LGBTQ. REPRESENTATION. This is the breaking point for me. EVERYONE IS STRAIGHT. EVERYONE IS CISGENDER. Not that it matters, but why can't Shannon something or other just add a gay side character? An agender background character? WHYYYYYYYYYYY NOOOOOOT.

Fifth issue. Half of the colored people are either bad guys, or the author randomly gets rid of them after a few books. Without explanation.

SOOOOO... I've seen some kotlc fans on here (including me)!!! So (SPOILERS BTW) the ending was so ARGGG!!! Shannon always leaves us on a cliffhanger!! I can't believe Elysian is a person. What if Elysian is Sophie's father or something??? I honestly thought Elysian would be another stone thingy!

But sooooo much happened in Stellarlune! What do you guys think and what was your favorite part?

OK...so am i the only one who does not like to ship linh and dex together???it was like a match made in heaven or marella and dex that would be cute together too

and i ship stina and fitz it was a odd match but i think they would be cute and stinas an empath so.

sophie and keefe i just love them i can imagine them holding hands at a wedding p.s. they are making a movie i am never watching that trash they can not just make a movie thats not enough.

sophie walked on the beach as she looked at the waves ,suddenly the waves thickened and turned into a water throne. sophie saw linh and tam sitting in it together in the throne together that explained why the waves had turned black when it was sunny the twins were awesome so sophie decided to let them come to everglen with her keefe,fitz,and biana that night they were all going to have a sleepover little did they know everything would change that night. sophie packed her pj that she probly was not going to wear because the last time they had a sleepover she fell asleep in her clothes and the actuallity of her sleeping was lowwww.she also packed ella. (:
