K-POP ALBUM REVIEWS Ep7 - I've Ive (April 10, 2023)

Blue Blood- It has more of a marching band feel. The beat is very addictive, 9.5/10!

I Am- Ive's most viewed music video! It's very good, and the beat is interesting. The atmosphere perfectly fits the music video. Hand-in-hand, I say, hand-in-hand! 9/10.

Kitsch- Electro-y! It's very good. Not much to say about this song, except that I like the bridge. 8.5/10.

Lips- This used to be my favourite song, not just on the album, but every song ever. And I can see why. It just gets me. It gives... A roadtrip in Arizona/Nevada/New Mexico just before sunset. 9/10.

Heroine- This song is very catchy. And the chorus is ALMOST trap, but not trap. I give it a 8.5/10.

Mine- A ballad, the first of the album. I really like the atmosphere. It's almost pop rock because of the prominent guitar in the chorus, but not pop rock. The atmosphere is... underwater at night or a lonely, dark, rainy day lying on your bed. That might not be very accurate, but it's my description. 10/10!!!

섬찟/Hypnosis- A very electro-y song! I love the vocals and the rap at the end of the song! 10/10.

Not Your Girl- A very fun song. It sounds a bit like a summer song. For some reason, I've always thought the chorus choreography for "The Feels" by TWICE goes really well this song's chorus. And I can play the whole song from the start of last chorus to the very end on the recorder! 9/10.

궁금해/Next Page- I want to preface this by saying the direct translation of 궁금해 is "curious", not "next page". Now to the song! Its beat it good. The post-chorus' atmosphere is really good, and for that I'll give this song a 9.5/10.

Cherish- A pretty electro-y song. I like the bass! 9/10.

Shine With Me- A ballad to close the album. Very powerful beat and a solid 9/10!

Personal thoughts- It's a good album. The first full album I listened to!

Young, Dumb, Stupid- A very fun song. NMIXX's first song without Jini. I like the beat! And Lily's A5 note! It's a very fun song. 9/10.

Love Me Like This- No Mixxpop but full NMIXX. The first part of the first chorus isn't very melodic but from there, so much melody. Easily a 9.5/10!

Paxxword- A very, very fun song! It's the most electro-y song so far in the album and has its own special video. I ESPECIALLY like the bridge and last chorus! The last chorus has so many high notes! 10/10!

Just Did It- It's a little electro-y. I really, REALLY like the prechoruses! They are definitely part of the reason it has the rating I've given it. And the bridge and last chorus are extremely good. 9/10.

My Gosh- The most laid-back song on the album, and very very good as a result. The chorus, and in fact, whole song, is very melodic and vocal-heavy. I ADORE U the prechoruses! I also really love Lily's high notes in the last chorus! 10/10!

Home- I only listened to this for the first time recently, like about a month or two ago. It's definitely the most electro-y song on the album. The chorus is really good, I like the vocals there. 9/10.

Personal thoughts- A good choice for NMIXX's first EP! I like it.

별별별 (See that?)- I like the old-school-rock-and-country-inspired sound. I like the instrumental a lot! In my opinion, it's what Dirty Work by Aespa should have been like. I was there the moment the music video was released, waiting for it next to the TV. Solid 9.5/10.

SICKUHH- I don't think I ever really liked this song. It came out as a PRE-RELEASE in early August 2024 and I didn't really vibe with it. But, the rap is okay. I don't think anything higher than 7/10 would be deserved, so give it a 7/10.

Red light sign, but we go- I like the vocals! This song has the power of transporting me to August last year whenever I hear it. Can you call that nostalgia? I don't think so, but I like it, especially the last part. Unfortunately, it's only 2:18 long, but it's good. 9/10!

BEAT BEAT- This used to be my favourite song on the album, but I eventually grew to appreciate See that? More. But I love the bridge! HaeLy (Haewon and Lily) perfection. Also, Bae's whistle note (A6!!!!) is the first one of her career and currently, the highest one she has ever hit. 8.5/10.

Moving On- At first I didn't really like this song. But it has grown on me over the months! It's quite rock-inspired and I like the instrumental and vocals. 8.5/10.

Love Is Lonely- A pop ballad that got its own special video! Unlike most songs I listen to, this one gets progressively better as it goes on (with another example being Wild Bird by Ive). Solid 9/10.

Personal thoughts- I like the album, because it's Nmixx, like duh! but also because, like I said, the third song is able to mentally transport me back to 2024. And the most important reason, obviously, is because the music is good!

Overall rating- 8.58/10 (85.8%)
