So, yesterday my class had a speech contest. We had about a month to memorize our speech, and it had to be a piece of published work. I was in the category ‘humorous,’ and did an excerpt from chapter 1 of Them Westing Game’ by Ellen Raskin. And guess what? I managed to get into the school contest!! I’m super nervous, because I’ll be going up against all the participating classes in the whole entire school. But hopefully I’ll do well.

Hey guys! I’m making a short story contest.

Topic: Fantasy/Adventure

Rules: Nothing too gory, no mature themes, no cussing, and basically follow the KS rules.

Due date: December 20^th, 2019, although I may start judging earlier, depending on how many entries I get.

What to do: 1. Write a short story, usually 1-3 pages long. It must all fit in one post.

2. Post it on KidzTalk using the #artistgirl tag, and put the link in the comments of this post. If on KN, also use the hashtag.

3. Cross your fingers and hope to win!

Prizes: First place: a writing request, an art request, and a shout out in my KN bio.

So, it has been awhile since I have done this!

Basically, rules are, I would normally give a new topic each Monday, you would have until Friday to finish a short story and LINK IT TO THIS POST BY EITHER TYPING THE STORY IN AN ANSWER OR MAKING A POST AND GIVING ME THE LINK. Similar rules now, but I will give a theme or a starter sentence, and I will post it on Sunday, you will have until Friday so I can give the results Friday night or Saturday. As for giving me the link to the story, you either type the story in an answer or comment to the weekly post, or write it in a separate post and copy and paste the link into a comment or answer, YOU MUST DO THIS OR ELSE YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. I want to be able to keep the stories in one place, instead of searching all over KT, which I might not read the story cause I cannot find it. Also, please make it one post/answer/comment, no chapters, just one short story, if it is multiple posts/answers/comments it will also be disqualified. Those are my rules, along with keeping it PG.

In this contest, you will first draw how you view the future. It can take place at any futuristic time. It can take place at 3000, 2080, next year, tomorrow, or simply the next hour. Will it be a futuristic city?

Or the next donut you'll eat?

The picture must be drawn. And it doesn't matter of you consider yourself a 'bad drawer'. In my point of view, everyone is a great drawer. So try your best!
Along with the drawing, the picture should include a description of when is the picture taken place, what it is, and why you chose it. If, for some reason, I can't see the picture you have posted, I will happily take your description as an entry. Make sure to at least include the year, and if you're really specific, the date (optional).
The two winners will be featured in my winning post which will be labled 'The Drawers and Writers of the Future,' with their entry. But the rest of the entries will be given an Honorable Mention.
Make sure to have fun, try your best, and take your time! And if you can't post the picture (hopefully, will not be an excuse because you can't draw XD) you can submit a description only, but the picture is mandatory for the people who can do it. Hope you have fun and thank you for the participation!
