New story- Dragon Magic Ch1 P1

Ch- I Nico

There I was, yup, that’s me, that 11 year old kid named Nico De Luca. I’m probably 4 feet 11 inches tall standing in a terrifying nightmare with light brown hair and bright green eyes. Well back to this nightmare, well there was this huge towering dog, maybe 15 feet tall, oh and with a creepy red eye. Yes you heard me right 1 eye, I mean I was scared out of my wits and started sprinting towards this huge old building. But this dog leapt in front of me and said, “Child, come here,” With a soft voice.

That’s when I bolted upright, panting. Soon there he was all up ready for the day, the one and only, he was talking about August 12th, his birthday. This day was particularly special due to the reason he turned 11 today and got a message from the committee. What’s the committee you ask? Tell me what your letter is maybe? Hold your horses, yeah but sure we’ll start with this mysterious committee. Believe me whatever you're speculating it’s 10x more crazy. Well here we go, this committee is named, The Committee of Dragon Magic. Yup you heard me right, you learn Magic and how to use it there. I specialize in fire magic or more commonly known as The fire of the Dragon. Well that was a lot to take in right.

Now about that letter, traditionally once turning 11 you go on a quest. Now usually they're fun and happy. You'll usually be gone for about a couple days and have a thrill of your life. Also you get a little prize and move up a rank at the committee. Right now I was at the rank of Major, only ten ranks left. Wait, what was that question? Oh, are there any other questions? No, then let’s go.

I was strolling through the city of Los Angeles at a slow pace, knowing that he had time. Today was a gloomy day, as storm clouds blanketed the skies. In Los Angeles this was, how do you say it, unusual. I mean it’s poured and thundered all month. Soon I turned the corner and it poured, “Are you kidding me! I didn’t bring an umbrella.” I exclaimed, starting to run.

Though it rained, I wasn’t discouraged and still felt cheerful.

While running Nico thought of the grand hall in the committee and all of the books and scrolls. The committee has many different locations, but the main one was in San Francisco which is where I lived. That means almost all of the scrolls are here, waiting to be read. The name of the awesome library is, Vivliothíki ólon, Bibliotheca omnium or in English, Library of all.

Once I took three right turns and one left he saw the nice old building, this crummy building had the walls peeling down to the floor and had looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since 1850. Though it probably hasn’t been cleaned since then, it was very old and odd. This place was the eighth establishment across the United States of America, the first was established in Philadelphia in 1777 and 3 years later in New York City. But eventually almost everything came here, and San Francisco became the major establishment.

I looked up at the building and saw an old man, maybe 60 years old in a jet black suit glaring at him. “You’re wet, clean yourself up inside.”

“Hi Pax, you’re ready for the day, right?” I questioned.

“Now where’s your uncle, you know he should be here?” Pax asked, while taking his black sunglasses off.

“Umm, well he woke me up, but I thought I’d let him sleep in you know. It is pretty early to get up and walk through the rain.”

“That is no excuse, now I have to call him to come walk here. He can’t just drive here.” Pax responded.

Once inside I saw the grand golden support beams, I would usually walk through here twice a day. “Umm, where do I go?” I asked the nearby guard.

After no response I grew frustrated, then ten minutes later the door burst open, his uncle and Pax entered. “Finally, you’re here. Now where do I go?” I stubbornly asked.

“Wait, child, use your patience. Oh, yeah you don’t have any.” His uncle laughed. “Hahahaha, so funny, now actually where am I going?”

“Fine, if you’re going to be stubborn, into the meeting room.” Pax said. When me and my uncle entered Pax stayed at the door, as if waiting for someone.

Me and my uncle stayed in the meeting room, passing time by staring at walls and occasionally starting a conversation. About 30 minutes later 3 kid’s entered with probably 3 parents by the look of it. Then Pax entered the room with an unfamiliar face. This person was probably in their late forties with bright blue eyes and red eyeglasses.

“Welcome all to the Committee of Dragon Magic headquarters, as you know all 4 of you have turned eleven in the last 6 months, so due to old tradition you will be sent on a quest. Of course if your parents or guardian declines them yes you won’t go, but you won’t become a full fledged member. And you will never see this place again. Now all four of you, Nico, Autumn, Charlotte and Isaac will make their way to Lake Okeechobee where you will defend your honor and work together skillfully and defeat Caz the god of all dragons. Now we have a prophecy to share with you. One will join, all lose hope. They learn that books aren’t everything, and reach their destination. And all will be scarred for all life. That’s the prophecy, now don’t give up when hope is gone, here is a pocket watch that you need to protect. When you’ve lost hope and can’t win, press this button on the side that says DNO, do not open. I think that’s all. Oh and I’m Easton, the director of all locations.”

“Now to add on to Easton, let them introduce themselves.” Pax said.

“Um, my name is Nico and I can do fire magic, so if you don’t like fire and I’m angry or annoyed don’t come close to me.” I said humorously.

And then Charlotte piped up, “My name is Charlotte and I am one with nature.”

“Oh, I’m Autumn. I do dark magic, not evil dark like spirits, and dark realms on earth.” Autumn said with a barely audible whisper.

“And I’m Isaac, I work with all water including salt and freshwater. Or really anything that has a water base.” Isaac exclaimed enthusiastically.

“Now if any parents or guardians oblige this letter it’s okay, though with some consequences like we talked about earlier, take your time of course reading over and talking with your child or nephew.” Pax said, glancing at my uncle.

About 10 minutes later all the parents and my uncle signed the paper cautiously and a little scared, though they got through it.

I can’t post the full chapter so there’s many parts.

I’ve got a game! What y out have to do is one person (me) will start off by answering this post with a word, any random word. Then in the comments you need to write another word starting with the end letter of that word- example:

Chapter three

When I hear it my heart stops in its tracks, my blood freezes, and my eyes widen to the size of saucers. I run to where it takes place. The voice sounds like my sister. I can't help but notice there she is lying there dead, unconscious. I check for a pulse but don’t seem to pick up one. “Get a doctor.” I say. “But.” One of the students nervously says. “JUST GET ONE NOW!” I scream tearfully. The headmaster runs to get a doctor. My dad said she was on the adventure. He lied to me. The doctor comes along and bandages her bloody wounds. They take her to the hospital. Fat hot tears start rolling down my cheeks. There's no way my sister will survive. “She’ll be okay. I'm sure of it. This school has the best doctors in the world.” A boy says to me. “You sure she had some really big wounds.” I say as I wipe away my tears. He puts his hand on my shoulder “Trust me she will.” He walks away. My father said he would never lie to me but he lied. He said everything would be okay but he was wrong about that too. Why am I even here? I think to myself. I walk back to my dorm. “What happened?” Iris asks me. “My sister got hurt real bad like she was bleeding.” I told her. “What that's horrible” I walk into my bedroom but I notice something on Iris’ clothes and it looks like blood.

Chapter two

What this isn’t real it can’t be. I think to myself. What should I do? Should I go in? My head says “Are you crazy you shouldn’t do it.” But my heart says, “Come on, let's go see what it is.” I decided to listen to my heart and go explore for a little bit. I walk up the steps. There's so many stairs my legs get tired and I’m not even halfway. I decided to take a break. I breathe heavily. I then think I should probably save this place for another day. I walk back to my dorm.

I’m in the “comfort” of my own room when suddenly I hear a knock on the door. “Who is it!” I yell. “Um it’s Iris!” The voice yells back. I put the statue in its normal position and walked to the door to open it. “Um hi Phoenix I guess we're roommates.” She says in a shy voice. “Alright come- Wait why did you knock, don't you have a dorm key?” I questioned. “It wasn’t working when I tried to do it.” She tells me. “Okay.” I say. Soon an announcement comes on and says “Attention all students we are going to have an assembly at three o'clock sharp. You can explore the school until then!” “I think I’m gonna explore the school!” I tell Iris.

I walk out of the dorm then I hear a loud scream.

WELCOME TO MAGIC ACADEMY

Here you will be with other students testing how well your magic is, making friends, learning how to use your magic, and much more.

At the end of the year when you're ready you shall go on a quest to find something we have hidden. The groups you’re in are listed in your class schedule. You must return to your dorms by 10:00 PM

Breakfast is at 8:00 AM.

Your class schedule will be handed to you on the first day.

We wish you the best of luck here and we hope you love it.

CHAPTER ONE

I’m outside of the entrance hallway feeling scared and nervous. I have no magic powers. Well some, but they don’t work right. but my dad still wants me to go. “Come on Phoenix, it's your first day at magic Academy.” My dad tells me. “Dad, do I have to go? My powers are useless.”

“Phoenix please sweetheart it’s not that bad.” He tells me assuringly “Okay dad I’ll go but what if they don’t like me you know what happened at the old school.” I tell him.

“Phoenix you’ll be alright okay that was the past your sixteen years old you can start a brighter future.” Before I go I run and give him a hug. “I love you dad.” I say “I love you too.” He tells me. I take a deep breath and walk into the school.

The Academy is huge. When you walk into the entrance there's a fountain, a nice cozy fireplace, a bakery, and a cute cafe. “Amazing right.” someone says. “Yeah.” I say a little startled. “Iris.” She says “Phoenix.” She walks away to somewhere else. I get in line to get my dorm key, locker key, and class schedule. I decided to go to my dorm first just to get settled. I put my books in a bookshelf, clothes in my closet, put my sheets, blankets, and pillows on my bed. I decided to decorate the walls. I add posters, and put shelves on. As I do this I stumble upon this little statue when I pull back its head the book shelves reveal a secret passage.

A tip I have is to look for inspiration,for example,my next book,land of the moths and the moons sweet light.I get my inspiration for writing this book from playing outside! it's summer,and this time of year the moths arrive! I observe them.
