For those unaware, HYBE is a Korean entertainment company that operates groups such as BTS, Le Sserafim, Enhypen, Illit, TXT, Newjeans, and the recently famed Katseye.

Katseye is under Hybe America x Geffen and was selected with much controversy in the show "Dream Academy." This show was criticized for not properly telling the contestants that they would be in a survival show and draining their members' mental health. However, what I'd like to talk about is the laziness of their songwriters.

Let's be real, some of the groups under HYBE can be considered the best Kpop groups of all time. BTS is legendary, so is Enhypen, Newjeans, and Le Sserafim because they have some really good bangers ! Which is why to me, its so shocking how Katseye's fanbase keeps defending such lazy songwriting.

After Dream Academy and Debut (Katseye's debut song) they had fallen out of relevance for the most part.

In April of 2025, Katseye came out with the single "Gnarly" which had a good beat but the lyrics were..... really bad, with lines such as:

Oh, we're in a session tonight (gang, gang) Oh, we're going out tonight (gang, gang) Oh, my God, this song's so lit, congratulations Now you be like, "Gang" Gang, gang, gang, gang, gang

everything's gnarly

Making beats for a boring dumb chick Freakin' gnarly (gnarly) Don't talk to me, you're gnarly "I'm not!" It's giving (gnarly) J-j-jealous of my mansion? Yeah, the view is freakin' gnarly (gnarly)

And we can't forget "Like a bag of Takis."

This was probably made to gain relevance, which in my opinion is a good move because before gnarly many people didn't even know what katseye was.

The song at first gained hate for its bad lyrics, but was later praised for it's fun energy, amazing choreography, and fire beat. This would be how most of Katseye's fanbase would discover them.

After Gnarly, katseye released some really good songs like "Mean Girls" and "Gabriella" which I personally found myself enjoying.

UNTIL

They released "Internet Girl."

And when I tell you these lyrics are so bad I mean it.

Oh! Ok so what does that mean?

The group's songwriter said it meant "whatever you want it to."

This really annoys me.

This is lazy songwriting, slop if you will.

Many fans were upset at how the studio version sounded, which I agree with, but I'm mostly upset about how the songwriters keep wasting these girls's talent on publicity stunts. I'm also really upset at how katseye's fanbase keeps eating these songs up because its katseye, which is just enabling this lazy songwriting.

Anyways, that's all for my rant. What do you think?

I have a fairly big account, and I should be speaking up about this matter. A couple of days ago, a mob of Trump supporters broke into the capitol. From my understanding, some people were arrested, but I don't think any of them got charged, correct me if I'm wrong. This was a CRIMINAL OFFENSE. And they still haven't gotten the consequences. Do you guys realize how messed up this is? People are over here getting arrested for peacefully protesting for BLM, and the people who illegally broke into a GOVERNMENT BUILDING aren't getting arrested. Our country is blatantly RACIST. This is not ok. And don't come at me saying 'it was just a protest'. No, it wasn't. It was a RIOT. And Trump didn't do anything, did he? Do better America.

So, y’all, it’s been a tough couple of weeks.

I’ll be crazy happy, then at the bottom of the ocean, and before you know it, back up again.

It’s tiring, being different people for different people, even though I know I don’t have to be. Some people, I’m just too nervous to let them in.

I’ve been self-destructing, telling myself i’m not good enough. Almost crying in History class, forcing a smile when the teacher looks my way.

But the song, Wild Things by Alesia Cara, makes things a little better, along with running or jumping on my trampoline. It tells me to be myself, not to change for anyone. I try to hold onto it.

I know it won’t be easy, but I can get though this.

Hi! So today I watched the Rise of Skywalker and it was ok. I loved how it showed Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) and Rey loved each other, and how Ben gave his life for her (I was crying ) But one thing that was confusing was that Finn wanted to tell Rey something (which looked like he wanted to tell Rey that he likes her or something). He never ended up telling her what the secret.
